6 MVC games Sunday, Dec. 29

The next MVC games are Sunday, December 29, when 11 of the 12 MVC teams are in action.
5 games are Sunday afternoon MVC matchups, including Valparaiso at Bradley at 3:00 pm.
The other game is Indiana State at Ohio State at 11:00 am, in the final non-conference game by an MVC school. (times are CST)
Murray State, which just returned from playing 3 games in the Diamond Head Classic tournament in Hawaii, is the only MVC team idle Sunday. They have already played two MVC conference games (record 1-1), and they resume play Thursday, Jan. 2 against Illinois State.

SIU broke open a 25-25 tie with 9 straight points to take a 34-25 lead with 5:33 left in the first half. But then they did not score again while UNI scored the last 13 points of the half to lead 38-34 at halftime.

Kinzinger is hurt and didn't play today and Chase Walker went down hard after he dunked on a fast break just 2 minutes in to the game. He did not play the rest of the game. Walker had scored 6 pts. in the first 2 minutes.

Johnny Kinziger was announced out today due to a leg injury, but I have not seen any further details about how long he is expected to be out.
As noted above, Chase Walker left about 2 minutes into the game and did not return.
The one good bit of news for Illinois State was that Boden Skunberg, the 5th year transfer from North Dakota State who has not played at all this season due to a foot problem, was no longer wearing his boot. Illinois State was 2nd to Bradley in the MVC in 3 point FG% (41.8%), but they had a poor shooting game today. They were just 6-26 from three (23.1%).
