If their eligibility clock doesn’t start until they’re out of JUCO why not go? It’s like 2 years of post-grad prep school.

Note that this immediately gives Duke Deen an additional year of eligibility in 2025-26
AND - it also gives Goanar Bilyew an extra year, too.

also "The waiver does not extend to all junior college athletes, only those who would have completed their NCAA eligibility this year."

AND-- it's not limited just to junior college kids - but to all Division I kids who spent a year or more at a non-DI school.

The NCAA Division I Board of Directors on Monday approved a blanket waiver granting an additional year of eligibility to former junior college transfers in similar positions to Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, opening the door for a wave of college athletes across all sports to spend one more year in college athletics.

I wonder if this ruling might even extend to junior college transfers who finished their careers prior to the 2024-25 season?

So this would give Duke (and in theory Goanar) the ability to play next year. I don’t think this ruling applies to Christian because Lemoyne was NCAA Division 2. Those are th only ones impacted at this point as I read it but there could be and likely will be more. It would impact Illinois Humrickhouse who played at an NAIA school.

no, oddly, I had changed my post to say the waiver is only for seasons played at a non-NCAA school, but the older version
of the post showed up when it was moved to this thread by a mod. But not applicable for Davis or Dillon because they did play at a NCAA school.
So only juco or NAIA

as noted -none of the Drake players would benefit since they played at an NCAA school and not at juco or NAIA

as I reviewed the other MVC rosters, it appears that this ruling potentially benefits Bradley the most-
but Duke Deen would need to want to stay one more year at Bradley - and I sure hope he does.
(but then I had hoped that about Hickman & Mast)

But then, things can still change again.....
