That is a goo win for ISU and the MVC. Cornell was picked 4th in the Ivy League preseason poll (behind Princeton, Yale, and Brown), and they were ranked 100 in NET. -
ISU is shooting really well from 3-pt. They were 14-26 today and now 42% on the season - good enough that when the new stats
are posted by NCAA, they should be 3rd best in Division I, with Bradley still in 1st.
and although not MVC games - there were two other games that I find of interest-
-Saint Louis lost again, their 3rd in a row and 4th in their last 5 games - with the only win in that span vs Chicago State.
Swope & Avila, as always, put up some good numbers, but nobody else did.
- and Loyola lost again, to 3-7 Oakland on a buzzer beater. Loyola also had just lost at home to San Francisco by double digits.
Tonight. Oakland led the whole way and held a 10-point lead at 2:33.but didn't score for
2 1/2 minutes, while Loyola scored 11 unanswered and had a 1-point lead until the final buzzer beater putback.
Loyola also just squeaked by Canisius by 12, but that game was single digits for much of the final 10 min until Loyola pulled away.

Murray State is playing Nebraska in the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu. The game is being broadcast nationally on ESPN, and it's against the 60th ranked NET team, so a win could help the MVC. But they have embarrassed themselves, so far. With 9 minutes left in the first half, they are losing 22-4. They are 1-16 (6.3%) from the floor, and 1-7 on threes. Murray State's poor shooting continued- 4-28 in the first half (14.3%). They were also outrebounded 24-14 by Nebraska.Comment

Murray State played better in the 2nd half, shooting 48.1% (13-27). But the closest they got was within 12 points (61-49), and they lose to Nebraska by 17 points.Originally posted by Da Coach View Post
