Bennett Stirtz had a terrific game to lead Drake to the 66-60 win at Valparaiso.
Stats- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401722442
Valparaiso was lead by NAIA transfer from Olivet Nazarene Tyler Schmidt with 20 points on 7-9 shooting. He hit his first 7 shots to keep Valpo in the game, including three 3-pointers. But he missed his last couple shots, both 3-pointers, in the final 1:17 of the game that allowed Drake to pull ahead and win 66-60.

Drake has had some really nice wins so far this year, but I was not impressed tonight. There were times when Valpo looked like a high school team, yet Drake couldn't pull away. Drake is Bradley's biggest roadblock to a MVC title IMHO. If Bradley stays healthy and plays up to their ability I like our chances vs. the Bulldogs for the conference title.

Watched this game. Stirtz is definitely a special player in this Valley. No doubt.
The team also carries a “refuse to lose” mentality that looks quite durable at the moment.
That said, I believe they may struggle with our length and physicality on D. You can’t coach length.
should be fun.Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I'll tell ya how to take care of Stirtz. You cut the hamstring on the back of his leg, right at the bottom. He’ll never play again. - Carl Spackler
Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
