Oddly enough, that game came up in conversation last week in Myrtle Beach as a reminder to how far we’ve come and how thankful and fortunate we are to have BW!

Bradley with a dominating win over Judson University.
Final score: Bradley 107 Judson 41 - https://bradleybraves.com/sidearmstats/mbball/media
Bradley got off to a slow start, trailing Judson for most of the first 4 minutes of the game, but then the offense turned on and ran away with it the rest of the way. Bradley shot the three pointers with high efficiency, and pulled out to a 30 point halftime lead (56-26). The 2nd half was more of the same with Bradley outscoring Judson 51-15 over the final 20 minutes for a final score of 107-41.
There were some records broken-
53 three point attempts easily broke the record of 35 set against Missouri State (1/2/2007) and against Florida A&M (11/21/2006)
22 three pointers made broke the record of 20 set against Florida A&M (11/21/2007)
24 steals tied the all-time Bradley record set against Valparaiso (12/20/1980)
Duke Deen was 8-10 on threes, which raised his season percentage from 32.7% (17-52) to 40.3% (25-62)
Prior to the game, Bradley's three point percentage was 43.9% (69-157), which ranked # 1 in the MVC and # 3 in the NCAA.
After shooting 22-53 from three today, Bradley's three point percentage dropped slightly to 43.3% (91-210), which is still good enough to lead the MVC, and now ranking # 6 in the NCAA stats.
It was enjoyable to see a game like this occasionally. It was especially nice to see guys like Corey Thomas and Demarion Burch get playing time. Both looked very good, along with Dillon, Hardtke, Hennessy, Biliew, Linke, and van der Knaap.

Hey, you’re not Gus by chance, are you? I ask since your moniker is walk-on.Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

If the stats don’t count team or individually then what does count from this? It seems like it counts towards our record on websites, though I know not for tournament purposes.
I guess the confusing part to me is what is the difference between this and the exhibition at the beginning of the year? Some things seem to count here more than there.
In terms of the game, I don’t know why we couldn’t at least schedule a D2 game or something, this game seemed pointless and I hope our players don’t develop bad habits from it. We really were bombs away and I would liked to have seen some more work on post scoring, cause we already know we can shoot. Thomas looks good and I like him as a player but boy he loves to shoot. I do like his rebounding though (not just from tonight on either observation). I was excited to get a glimpse of Gus Rugaard as I liked what I have heard of his game and wondered if he could have a Danny Adams type career path. I did think he looked good in a few garbage time minutes. Tim looked very raw still and I can see it being a year or two before he’s ready for real minutes. Burch looked like he was back in full force which was nice to see. I wonder Dillion’s role going forward. I still think his shooting is useful even on a good shooting team. Linke seems like such a good teammate. Did he even put up a shot? Every other player for sure did. He could have as a senior in garbage time and made several passes to teammates. Pure unselfishness.
Always fun to watch a blow out, but I’m not sure this game does much for us.Last edited by BUfan14; 11-30-2024, 12:30 PM.

IMG_3366.jpg Not true….
if a DI school plays an NAIA as a regular season game, the stats do count. As proof - here’s the current page from NCAA STATS showing Bradley after 8 games (which includes the Judson game) is shooting 5th best in the nation from 3-point

Also here’s the current page right now from NCAA STATS showing Duke Deen ranks Top 30 after 8 games in 3 point attempts - so obviously the stats from the Judson game are counted just like any other game
now, if a player PLAYS FOR a school that is NAIA, then his personal stats nor that team’s stats are not included in the NCAA stats

My mistake. Sorry about that, I trusted the response from Google AI, but looked up the NCAA rule book and it does appear Judson qualifies based on the below accreditation by the association for Biblical Higher Education. If that is indeed the case, seems like a good way to pad your players stats.
The institution must satisfy one of the following:
o Is an active, provisional or reclassifying member of the NCAA
o Is accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education:
> Association for Biblical Higher Education in Canada and the United StatesLarry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

No way they’d even be on our schedule if they weren’t legit games that counted, o/w they’d be billed as an exhibition like those games we used to play vs the Cybots, AIA& Marathon Oil.
And I don’t feel bad we put up numbers vs a non-DI, everyone else does it.
