UIC, which was leading the MVC in points per game with 92 ppg through their first 6 games, managed only 55 points today in a 55-72 loss to East Carolina in the 5th-6th place game in the Boardwalk Battle in Daytona Beach, Florida. They settle for 6th place, and their record drops to 4-3.

Illinois State beat UAB 84-83 in the semifinal round of the consolation bracket of the Paradise Jam in the USVI. They will play for 4th place Monday against the winner of the other consolation semifinal between George Washington and Louisiana.
