Texas State is located in San Marcos, Texas, midway between San Antonio and Austin. They were formerly known as Southwest Texas State University until 2003. Texas State University has an enrollment of over 40,000 students.
The Texas State Bobcats are members of the Sun Belt Conference for the last 12 seasons, and they were picked 7th in this year's Sun Belt preseason coaches' poll - https://sunbeltsports.org/news/2024/...ason-poll.aspx

Texas State has beaten Eastern Michigan (64-44) and D3 McMurray College (102-62) at home, and they lost to TCU (71-76) and Abilene Christian (60-72) on the road. Leading scorer is 6'2" sophomore guard Kayden Gumbs (17.0 ppg). Leading rebounder and 2nd-leading scorer is 6'6" senior guard Joshua O'Garro, who was a 4-star player in high school and has played for Oklahoma, San Jose State, and Colby County junior college prior to landing at Texas State.
They have some injury problems. Tyrel Morgan, a 6'5" 5th-year forward, who was a Preseason All-Sun Belt Third Team pick (their only player on any of the preseason all-Sun Belt teams), has not played in their last 2 games. He averaged 8.0 ppg in their first two games, but was injured in their 2nd game against McMurry College. Dylan Dawson, who was averaging 10.0 ppg, was injured in their last game (reported to be dislocated shoulder), and may not be available for the games in Myrtle Beach. They also have several players out with longer-term injuries who have not played in any games yet this season (Coleton Benson, Franck Emmou, Mark Drone).

They are averaging 74.3 ppg and have 5 players averaging double-digits. They are a pretty good 3-point shooting team (38.3). The roster includes 6 junior college transfers, 6 transfers from other 4-year colleges, and 2 players recruited from high school.
Texas State was 17-18 last season, and 7-11 in the Sun Belt. Their last NCAA appearance was 1996-97.
Bradley has never played Texas State in the past.

The only MVC team they have ever played was at Drake in 2018 (in the pre-Darnell Brodie era), a year in which Drake won 24 games and went to the CIT, and they lost to Drake in a very close game that was just a 2-point game in the final 45 seconds.
Drake had to shoot 55% to pull it out,75-69 - https://static.godrakebulldogs.com/c...18-19/du03.pdf

Yoda, Archaeologists have unearthed a game ball from Brodie's freshman year. It's on display. On a serious note, Texas St is ranked 153 in Pomeroy and should be a legit challenge to our wings in spite of their injuries. BU is at 101 this morning.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

LOL, but on a serious note, Darnell Brodie's granddaughter just hit the 1000 point career scoring mark for Colgate

Completely agree LB! We've got 2 really good WCC teams coming up (San Fran and Santa Clara) in the next couple of weeks so stacking a few wins against lesser teams in the mean time is important.

Apparently the game is NOT on ESPN+, only on ESPNU.

Don't believe this game is on ESPN PLUS. Just signed up but it says ESPNU only.

Awesome to be up 20 @ half!
Good time to keep up the heat and get some playing time for Thomas resting key players, you need fresh legs in a tournament!

Hmm, gee, I wonder if these ESPN guys have mentioned that Texas State is hampered by injuries..

(JK- they have spent the better part of half the broadcast time so far going on and on with injury excuses, gets kinda tiring)

No offense but how many layups are we gonna give up?
