know it's early and that they blew these guys out, (a weak DII) but, nonetheless, Missouri State is rebuilding & has some very poor offensive statistics
Among MVC teams, they are:
11th in scoring offense
9th in FT% (62%)
10th in FG% (44%)
9th in 3ptFG% (30%)
Next to last in assists
and at or near the bottom in several other stats despite their top scorers playing mid-season minutes per game
It's not entirely their fault. Unfortunately, I think mid-major conferences like the Valley are doomed to have several teams every season
like this, now that we are in the NIL era. Turnover will be inevitable.
Used to be that a lot of years, even the teams at the bottom of the MVC were still pretty strong.
There were years where the worst MVC team still had an RPI pf 193 and only 2 MVC teams were worse than 150.
But not any more. The best players on almost every Valley team will portal elsewhere.
