Leading scorer for Valpo was Tyler Schmidt, a 5th year transfer, 6'4" guard from NAIA Olivet Nazarene. He had 17 points on 7-8 shooting,
Preseason 1st team All-MVC pick Cooper Schwieger had just points on 1-9 shooting. Valpo also suffered from poor perimeter shooting today. They were just 2-15 from three (SIU was 5-21).

After scoring only 17 points in the first half, Evansville played much better in the 2nd half, outscoring North Texas 46 to 38.
The Aces shot 27% (6-22) in the first half, and were 2-13 from three. They shot 64% (16-25) in the second half and were 6-13 from three.
