  • Some Fun Trivia Questions

Just for fun, see how many of these you can answer.
I will put the answers at the bottom, but try without seeing the answers, and then tell me how many you knew without looking!

1-Someone once shattered a backboard in a Bradley home game, causing a memorable 1.5 hour delay and replacement of the backboard. Who did it, what team did he play for and give me a rough idea of when it happened?

2-In what season did Bradley win its all time 1000th regular season victory in its history, and how many NCAA D-I teams had won 1000 prior to Bradley?

3-Name any player in Bradley history who made his first twelve field goal attempts in his career before missing. It is possible there are more than one, but at least I know of one

    4-What was Tom Les' nickname?

5-What Bradley great out of Patterson High School in Dayton, Ohio was never even recruited by hometown school Dayton University, and went on to a great career at BU and one of the single most memorable events in college basketball history?

1-Loyola's Kevin Sprewer shattered the backboard on the west end of the Fieldhouse on December 21, 1979 in Loyola's 84-76 win over Dick Versace's team that would end up winning the Valley and going to the NCAA.

2-BU beat Rollins 78-68 on December 15, 1979 and immediately after the game Dick Versace handed the game ball to faculty representative Orville Nothdurft in a ceremony marking BU's 1000th.

3-He is pictured in my avatar, Carl Maniscalco

    4-The Human Floorburn

5-Deon Jackson, and his final second game-winning shot in the MVC Tournament that still lives on in highlight reels.

I recall the broken backboard although I was not there.
I will never forget the Deon Jackson highlight shot and how it instantaneously turned sadness into joy.
I still get tingles when I see it.
