FWIW Robbie Avila suffered a bad sprained ankle at SLU's preseason basketball event (scrimmage). Guess that's why many teams have gone away from full scrimmages.

That could happen in any practice, not a good enough reason to not have scrimmages.

True. But reduced opportunities mean less risk. I prefer the days of full scrimmages to introduce the team to the fanbase, myself.
