The OKC Thunder just waived Malevy Leons.

    Hopefully, he'll get offered a G-League contract.

This was expected. He’ll most likely play in the g-league and may get a chance at a 2-way contract with a team this year. I’d bet next year he’ll make a roster out of training camp. Probably 70-30 odds imo. He has the basic skills teams covet but not enough offensive pizzazz or youth to make teams excited.
        Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

still could be picked up by another NBA team but likely considering Europe vs G- League

That is terific news for Malevy! The Thunder had just signed Alex Reese a little over a week ago to fill the roster spot of big man Isaiah Hartenstein, who is injured and out for several weeks. It's a bit surprising he was released so quickly. But the Thunder must have been impressed enough with Malevy that they wanted to get him under contract. Malevy signed a standard NBA entry contract, which is for the minimum yearly salary of $1,157,153, though it might not be guaranteed.

MALEVY! Once he gets a chance to show what he can do, he'll have a roster spot for good! Gratz Malevy - a true Brave!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Malevy & the OKC Thunder play at 9pm
not sure if it's televised, but these guys are streaming it at 9pm - https://thetvapp.to/

                        speaking of the NBA-
former MVC star Fred VanVleet is off to a terrible start - the worst of his career...
every stat is surprisingly poor- shooting pct just 30%, avg is down, assists down by 2-4 per game, even FT shooting off by 15-20%,
wonder if it's injury or is he just getting older in his 9th NBA season (Rockets), and maybe lost a step.

Malevy is dressed and is one of the 12 active players for the Thunder in tonight's game. But he has not played yet. He probably has not had a chance to practice with the team, yet.

Malevy did play & scored his first NBA point.
He got the game ball & post game interview!
He also got his first rebound & first assist.

OKC won 137-114 to go to 5-0.

Really neat how the Thunder players really seem to like Malevy....giving him the game ball!

That’s great! Sure hope malevy stays on the team and gets some opportunities. As we know Malevy is a great guy and good to see his teammates realize it!
