Third stop in three years: Texas, SIU, ASU. I wonder what the wife and kids think of all this moving around. Third school for the kids in three years. Third home in three years. Next year, we might see Howard as an assistant coach at another university.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

Note that he left those last 2 stops only because the head coaches he worked under were relieved of their jobs (Chris Beard & Bryan Mullins) and not due to any fault of his own. But yes, that is a lot of moving and disrupting family.

I hope he gets another chance at a head coaching job some day. I think he would do an excellent job.
As most Bradley fans recall, he would have become Bradley's head coach in 2015 after Geno Ford was fired, but a Peoria Journal Star sports writer dug up an old court case on Jerrance revealing that he was caught with a small amount of marijuana while serving as an assistant coach at Kansas, something that would be no big deal now and would be completely legal in most states. However, it was reported erroneously by the PJ Star that "he was placed on probation", and Bradley backed off their offer of the head coaching position. In fact, Jerrance was only placed on court supervision, a much lesser penalty, and after 6 months all charges were dropped.

Yes, charges were dropped and all record of the violation were completely removed from the record.
But there was a source that told a slightly different story - that Jerrance was IN Peoria on a recruiting trip,
got pulled over for a common traffic violation and that it was the recruit in the car with JH who had the contraband,
but that Jerrance took the fall for the kid, believing nobody would ever know. I can't prove any of this, but
if so, Wessler torpedoed Howard's entire career just out of spite over Geno, Joanne & Mike getting canned.
