All we can do as fans of college basketball and of Bradley is to enjoy it while we can. College sports is changing and soon will be unrecognizable.

I'm excited for this upcoming season as it appears BU will be the MVC favorite! I would love to see them compete In the Big Dance! As an Underdog no doubt! The following year will be so so interesting! We will lose MVC first teamer Duke, MVC most improved Hannah, and Zeke! It appears will have a total Rebuild! Now the question is what will Bradley do with 20 Million to lure at least 1 great player or more? Obviously the big boys will have no limit and a few could field a total roster of NBA future players who could stay if they can make as much or more then the NBA. If this occurs, March Madness upsets will be few and far between and the tournament may lose its luster! Time will tell if Bradley has any chance to be a final 4 team the likes of FAU, SDST recently. If the Underdogs are all knocked out first round, how many viewers will keep watching?

What makes you think Bradley is going to have $20mil in their budget to spend on players? I love BU and our basketball program but I don't see it happening that way.

I read an article about the lawsuit. It was interesting that in the article the author said Georgetown and Villanova were against the proposal

I guess DA Coach is correct! From what I'm reading, enjoy the last few years of Bradley Basketball! The changes coming appear to make the old system obsolete.

certain players who had to sit out for transferring will be granted an extra year of eligibility
The NCAA and a coalition of states agreed to settle a lawsuit Thursday that would allow athletes to be immediately eligible to play no matter how many times they transfer.

College sports as we know them are completely and utterly over. It's the wild wild west and the teams with the most $$$ are going to take it all.

Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.

I'm going to enjoy what appears will be the final season before players will get paid. I assume once they are paid with contracts, they could stay and the best teams will get even more mature and better! Like a monopoly that the big boys will have. The upsets will be few and far between! In the meantime, let's hope a favored Bradley team ( most Likely) in the MVC will live up to potential and win the tourney to make March Madness! Even though it's ridiculous to speculate, Joe Lunardi as of May 7th had the big B logo going to the sweet 16!!! Of course we know it really has no value except its fun to think that he believes BU will have a solid enough team to spring a couple upsets in the tourney! Like I said, first we gave to make the field! If this is indeed the last year before players get paid, Maybe BU can take advantage of keeping our 2 super seniors intact while the other teams even with great talent have to start over because of the wild west transfer portal!!!! We will have 3 Champions back from our 2023 team so maybe just maybe in this final year we can pull off a great season and bring back Bradley to National prominence!!!! Love ❤️ to Dream Big!!!!

Article from a few days ago re: Houston Christian University's challenge to this settlement:

FCS school challenging proposed NCAA settlement allowing revenue sharing among athletes

A proposed settlement that would allow revenue sharing for college athletes is being challenged by a school in the Football Championship Subdivision.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

That article seems to try to paint this lawsuit in a negative manner by linking one of Houston Christian's lawyers to donations he made to the school - as if that is something unethical...

A federal judge declined to grant preliminary approval to the House v. NCAA antitrust settlement Thursday, citing concerns with multiple parts of the terms of the deal.

This will be dragged out for years.

So what is that telling us? Is the NIL that was passed not being upheld by the courts? If this lawsuit does not go thru is the NIL dead?
