College player shot and killed last night in Peoria

This is a horrific story and makes me sick... It's been reported that an 18 year old man was shot and killed in Peoria last night near Forrest Hill and Knoxville. - https://www.pjstar.com/story/news/cr...r/73524206007/

The victim was Mikequese Taylor, who had a nice career playing at Peoria Central HS and with the Mid-Pro Academy, and he graduated a year ago. He got a scholarship and played this past season at Kansas City, Kansas Community College, a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. -

What’s sad is it was Peoria’s 6th homicide of this year, which an improvement over the last few years. Peoria has been averaging 20-24 per year, almost all by gun violence. Usually, it is located in 2 areas of the city, the East bluff and south of Western Ave east of Martin Luther King Dr. This homicide occurred at Forest Hill and Knoxville, which is north and west of the the East bluff. Unfortunately, gun violence can occur anywhere in America, example being Highland Park, Il.
