Bradley's first opponent in the Myrtle Beach Invitational, the Texas State University Bobcats, finished last season 17-18 and 15-18 against Division I opponents. The game will be November 21 at 4:30 PM CST.
They were 7-11, and tied for 10th place (out of 14) in the Sun Belt Conference. They did win their first 3 games in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament last March, before losing a close game in the championship to James Madison.
Their final NET rank was 206. Bradley has never played Texas State (of Southwest Texas State).
    Historical record - https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb...xas-state/men/

Trivia- Texas State is a large public university in San Marcos, Texas (midway between Austin and San Antonio), founded in 1899. Enrollment last year (2023) was 38,873. It was formerly known as Southwest Texas State University until 2003, then changed its name to Texas State-San Marcos. Then in 2013 it changed again to Texas State University. Famous alumni include former US President Lyndon Johnson, country music star George Strait, and St. Louis Cardinals 1st baseman Paul Goldschmidt.

coulda been worse- there's prob three teams in this tourney that look to be considerably worse and could have NET's in the 250-300 range

If we get past Texas State, like most of us think and hope we will, that next round game is probably against Princeton who finished 1st in the Ivy League with a 24-5 record with a win against Rutgers, close losses to UNLV and St. Joe's and they beat Duquesne (who beat us last year). Looks like they lost in their tournament to Brown, which kept them out of the NCAA.

Not sure what they're bringing back this year or if they lost any players, but based on last year they would seem to be a tough 2nd round matchup for us.

Princeton, maybe more than any other D1 team, seems to always have good teams regardless of their personnel. They win with their "system", with which they are very good at breaking down defenses and getting easy, or wide open, shots, and rebounding against bigger teams. So they will be tough again in 2024-25.
They started the same 5 players in all 29 games last season, and nearly all their scoring and rebounding came from those 5 starters plus one bench player.
          Princeton 2023-24 stats- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...stats/_/id/163

Their 2024-25 roster is not posted yet, but, they appear to return their top 2 scorers-
          > Leading scorer from last season, Xaivian Lee, a 6'3" sophomore guard (17.1 ppg), who will now be a junior.
          > Second-leading scorer, Caden Pierce, a 6'7" sophomore forward (16.6 ppg) from Glenbard West HS in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He will also be a junior.

They also return their 5th and 6th highest scorers (7.8 ppg & 6.6 ppg), but they lost a total of 6 players to the transfer portal, including 2 starters who combined for over 21 ppg..
Their 3rd and 4th leading scorers- juniors 6'4" G Matt Allocco (12.7 ppg) and 6'7" F Zach Martini (8.4 ppg)- transferred to Notre Dame and Rutgers respectively. Those two were also the team's top 3-point percentage shooters (42.7% and 38.5%).
They also lost 4 reserves - sophomores Jack Scott and Vernon Collins, and freshmen Ryan Duncan and Derek Sangster, none of whom averaged more than 2.3 ppg.
They have 5 incoming freshmen, including 6'2" sharpshooting point guard Jack Stanton from Downer's Grove North HS, who Bradley and several other MVC schools offered. - https://verbalcommits.com/schools/princeton

My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

well, after what they did to sabotage our 2020-21 season, I kinda feel the same about never seeing them again,
and I hope they meet their comeuppance in CUSA - I hope they fully enjoy their trips to illustrious Kennesaw, GA,
Newark, Delaware, Jacksonville Alabama, Ruston Louisiana, Murfreesboro & Huntsville Texas.

...but in all fairness, Springfield, MO is a whole lot nicer city than some places and certainly on par with most of the MVC cities...
