4 western conferences (Big Sky, Big West, Western Athletic, and West Coast Conference) will join the Big 12-Missouri Valley officiating consortium, forming the Collegiate Officiating Consortium- MBB (COC-MBB). This is intended to provide a deeper pool of top college officials for games involving those schools.
Veteran official John Higgins will serve as the Coordinator of Officials for the COC-MBB. - https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/sta...16583280767001

Are we going to be in trouble with Higgins in charge? Seemed like he never liked BU.
We might get some really crappy refs.

Hmmm! I am wondering are we starting to see a new power group forming to counteract the Power 6 conferences. One group on east side of the country. Now one for the west part of the country. I am all for that as long as we are part of it

Pollard and Maxwell are the officials that seem to be the main offenders to screwing BU. I've always though Higgins was a pretty great ref and I've always been glad to see him officiating BU games, especially in the tournament. He let's us play and isn't whistle happy most of the time.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Even Pollard seems to be different the last couple years. I felt the games he officiated this season, there were more of his calls that benefitted Bradley than went against BU. Maxwell is a different story. He is insane and clearly hates Bradley.

I agree about Pollard. I noticed that in the tournament, though I don't remember seeing him much at Carver this year so that may have played a part into him not hurting us much. And yes, Maxwell is insane!

check how many other coaches hate Gary Maxwell
Jerome Tang thinks a Big 12 referee needs to be held accountable for “chirping” at K-State guard Cam Carter during the Wildcats’ Saturday loss in Houston.

New Kentucky head coach Mark Pope got "T'ed" and the BYU fans got a long discussion going about Maxwell and even brought up the Bradley incident

Arkansas (and now USC) head coach Eric Musselman got into it with Maxwell

I personally think this is a great idea and they couldn't of hired a better ex official to handle that job. Higgens was the best official I've see work BU games since the DV era. Don't know how old he is but I think he retired very young. I also agree with several of you on here regarding Pollard. I think he is definitely above average of the officials I've seen grace our floor. The one I'd like to see one more time but I think he's retired is Ed Shumer. He and one of my friends from Florida exchanged pleasantries back when we were in the Molinari Army.

I think Pollard has been better since Wardle became coach, he seemed to dislike Les. Maxwell is an embarrassment to officials and should retire. I always liked Higgins.

Pollard seemingly hated BW for years. I think the positive change noticed just happened this year (personal opinion). Would be interested to know if Coach feels the same way.

Lol Pollard was hard to see on the floor when I was in school back in 07'. Always seemed to call things against BU. I think he has been better in recent years though.

I always thought Pollard and Higgins when they refed together were terrible. I'm not sure if they thought they had to out do each other or what the deal was. Once they didn't ref together it seemed like the calls got better.
As to how good Higgins was remember Kentucky fans about killed him for a call that cost KU a game. He took one or 2 years away from reffing do to that incident.
