And with that, in all likelihood, Bradley becomes the favorite to win the MVC next season, followed by UNI, then, at a distance, by everyone else.

Bruce Zhang, the 7-footer from China who told our coaches he was committing to BU when he visited a year ago, then instead signed with St. Louis, has not contributed much for the Billikens. He averaged 2.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and shot only 41%. He did not attempt any threes.

If I was him would have stayed one more year. Don't think SLU is that attractive of a job. Probably could have got something better next year but that's just my opinion

No thanks, another tall project. St.Louis was bad and he still hardly played.

Salary is expected North of 2 million per year. Highest paid coach in A-10. Job in the Midwest. Indiana Stste is still working on hiring a president. Then needs to hire an AD. Josh will take many of his players, Sadly seems like a very wise move.

I disagree, he is a hot commodity, and his success at Indiana State could be a flash in the pan scenario. He should definitely take the money now.

Exactly, if they have a down year next year, there may be no offers.

Initially I felt that way too, but it’s a big salary increase and if any of his top players decided to leave for more NIL money or got hurt, they could have been a middle of the pack team next season and not had any offers. There’s no guarantee of anything and passing up a 1.6 million dollar raise doesn’t make sense. I get St Louis isn’t a marquee name in a Power Conference, but he makes more money and has a lot more NIL money to work with. I hate to see it as I want teams to have continued success in the Valley, but there’s really no logical reason for him to stay.

When we were in St Louis for the tournament I talked to several Indiana State fans and they knew he was leaving for the SLU job back then. They all said he was one of the lowest paid coaches in the Valley at somewhere around 350 thousand a year. They said because of the situation with the school president and AD that they knew he was gone because no one was authorized to give him a considerable raise.

OFFICIAL: Josh Schertz is a Saint Louis Billiken. We are thrilled to announce Josh Schertz as the next Head Coach of our program. #SLUBillikens

You'd think that if Schertz was not the new SLU coach, SLU would have been actively searching for a coach instead of remaining quiet for weeks. Both parties were waiting for the NIT to conclude. One had to have been dead not to see the obvious weeks ago.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

There was no way he would turn this job down, some of his best players were going to go into the portal for better deals. The money alone is a life changer and St.Louis is a heck of a lot nicer then Terre Haute. These opportunities only come around once in awhile for mid-major coaches. It will be interesting to see what players decide to go with him and which choose to look for better NIL deals. Indiana is looking for guards and they have more$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
                          Time will tell.

I agree, except for the part about St. Louis being much nicer than Terre Haute.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
