Call me cynical if you want, but I've never seen a group of people so obsessed with the events surrounding a coach that we've faced twice. And probably will never face again ...
Fine he had his profanity-laced tirade at Carver that five fans saw and used too much dirty language on the court. When is this stuff going to die? This is like posting every box score of Danny Granger's NBA career ...
Eustachy isn't even a national "celebrity" like a Bob Knight is ...
I know people can discuss whatever they want on here but it's befuddling why this topic consistently keeps popping up.
Side note: It's kinda sad that I'm even reading this thread, which shows the state of the basketball team at the moment.Go Braves!

I don't know what you are talking about.
I posted the update about Eustachy because it was a national news release concerning college basketball. Nothing more, nothing less. If you see something negative in my post, please point it out.
I have never posted anything negative about Larry Eustachy.
I do sit behind the visitors bench and I and my family were offended by his outrageous language and antics, but I have not posted in this thread or any thread in the last year that I can find regarding the "tirade", or "tongue-lashing" that you are referring to.

Just teasing. I don't have a problem with you making mention of the release.

Scouter, if any posters have an issue with tornado, or with his posts or opinons, then they should direct their responses toward tornado. But here we have a couple posters who don't like something that was posted (many days ago, by the way), and they direct their animosity toward me for a post that contains nothing negative. IMO, that's not appropriate board etiquette.

Originally posted by tornado View Postand the CUSA is so very weak this year, with only Memphis in the top 70 RPI's.
In fact, right now, Houston is 11-1, but if the NCAA were today, they would either have to beat Memphis to get an NCAA bid
or hope they get one at large despite their 105 RPI and 308 SOS.
I can only imagine the meltdown by Tom Penders if he goes NIT again with possibly 25 wins-- all against low RPI teams!
Again...remember, the whole RPI thing is the invention of those bigger-school guys in the first place to prove their 3, 4, 5, 6th best teams deserve bids ahead of conference winners of other smaller conferences.
He tries to defend his scheduling because he wanted to establish a winning mind set with his team. So in order to do this he scheduled between Nov 18 and Nov 29 the following schedule:
Sun, Nov 18 Charleston W 84-69
Wed, Nov 21 Texas Southern W 73-66
Sat, Nov 24 Grambling St. W 95-53
Mon, Nov 26 Coastal Carolina W 86-79
Sat, Dec 1 Middle Tenn. St. W 83-68
Tue, Dec 4 Toledo W 67-56
Sat, Dec 8 Southern W 73-49
Tue, Dec 18 Kentucky W 83-69
Sat, Dec 29 AR Pine Bluff
Notice all these game were at home and they were proceeded by 3 games in San Juan two versus Morehead State and the other versus Marist. The lost inbetween to VCU.
Their first true road game was at UMass a 95-89 loss.
Currently they are 11-2 with Arizona at Houston on Saturday.
Their current RPI is 108 and SofS is 295
I do not buy his "theory" that he wanted to establish a winning additude. Last year he thought he deserved a bid because in his mind he scheduled up with road games at SLU VCU Arizona Kentucky and at Rhode Island and he also played in the Raionbow Classic they finished 18-15 and were in his mind snubbed.
His problem with that theory is they lost every one of those games other then the one in Hawaii versus Charlotte. He got burned last year by scheduling like he should with the conference he has and he would have had an atlarge case if they would have one a couple of their games.
Now in his mind they have a great record and that is all that should be viewed. He dismisses the Schedule Strength on his call in shows by making the point that several of the teams he has scheduled were picked to finish very high in their conferences.
I think his real motivation was to establish this huge record, pray he can beat Memphis once, run off as many wins in C u of A and say to the media in March look at us our record is well over 20 wins etc etc etc.
If they can not beat Memphis once or beat Arizona on Saturday or win conference C u of A's tourney, I personally do not think they deserve an atlarge regardless of how many other wins they get.. even if they happen to run the conference other then losses to Memphis.

First of all Da Coach, just like Scouter, I have nothing against you, tornado or anyone else on here. There's no animosity or anything silly like that. I just laugh because other presumably "dead" topics seem to resurrect themselves at times here and I don't really get it. My post, though much more lengthy was meant to be along similar lines of what chitown fanatic said:
I think it's funny. I have to admit it had to be one really bad tongue-lashing to get someone so fired up that they need to continually post updates on a bad coach that no one else cares about.
Just as person A might think *insert any underperforming BU big man* might need more minutes, person B has just as much of a right to call them out why they're wrong (as long as they back up why they think that way). Similarly, I think I have a right to think that the Eustachy "news" isn't really news, even if others think it is.
More than anything else, none of us would be paying any attention to this if the team had something good to talk about lately.Go Braves!

Nothing on here should be a real "war of words." If people actually don't like other posters, that's pretty sad and pathetic. I value everyone's opinions equally.

The only time that I ever feel compelled to have a 'war of words' out here occurs when I am labeled as 'less of a fan', 'a naysayer', 'a bandwagon fan', etc. whenever I try to make a point or observation about this team that happens to be negative is some way...This simply isn't an accurate or fair label to put out there...
Those BU fans that are able to see everything this team does in nothing but a positive light are certainly entitled to have and express those opinions...just as I should be entitled to have and express mine...But having 100% positive opinions about every single aspect of this program 24/7 doesn't make you 'the voice of reason' or 'a better fan' because of it...it just makes you another Bradley fan with your own individual perspective...
Our differences of opinion make us a better fan base and should make for better conversations on this board, IMO.
Just my 2 cents...carry on.
