I actually think SIU's Xavier Johnson going 4-5 from the arc and scoring most of his 14 pts
in the 2nd half was the biggest difference maker.

The MVP award was for the entire 3-game tournament, and Xavier Johnson had 2 awful games before having a good performance in the championship game. Enaruna had 3 good games, including a 25 point performance in their first game.

I thought Malevy did very well in this tournament. He was very athletic and moved very well without the ball. From what I can perceive he was rated very high compared to other players.

Malevy had 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. He missed his first 4 shots, but made his last 3 to finish 3-7.
Sean East, Marcus Domask, and former ISU guard D.J. Horne all tied for game-high scoring honors with 18 points each.
You guys know how much I like(d) East. I wish he had stayed, though we got TR and DD to replace him, which ain't too shabby!
East has a pretty high B-ball IQ, plays under control (even at BU), and nice touch from many spots on the floor.

He swished like 8 in a row to start before grazing the rim (and still making). Love that trajectory! I could watch video that for an hour!

Malevy is in NY working out for the Knicks who currently have the 24th (from Dallas), 25th, and 38th (from Utah) picks

Malevy also has two other workouts scheduled:
                      June 2 - Orlando Magic (18th & 47th picks)
                      June 6 - Cleveland Cavaliers (20th pick)

so it appears that if teams who don’t even have a 2nd round pick, and that all the interested teams are in the 18-25 spots, that Malevy is seriously being considered as a 1st round pick, just outside the lottery range!

My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

I hate the NBA, but I will be tuning in if Malevy makes a roster.

Agreed. I hope Mal gets a shot at making a career in the NBA. Special player and a great young man.

Malevy getting more press in Sports Illustrated
