  • I hate this day

I always have. It is the day after the Bradley season ends and sadness hits. Now there is the added angst of what players will leave - is our coach still here. Those issues were always there but much bigger now with the portal, etc

    Right there with ya, HB.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Yea college basketball was much better when the players were not getting legally paid and were only allowed to transfer once plus if they did they had to sit out 1 season. I could see letting them transfer once without penalty and giving each player the same amount of spending money but this crap is insane. Hopefully our key players decide to stay and we are able to find some good transfer ones from the portal or JUCO. This is going to be an interesting week and probably not a good one.

Totally one of worst days of each year, unless the Braves exceed expectations. I feel they met them. With 1 more win - either in Arch Madness or NIT, I think they exceeded slightly.

I just hope our team is equal or slightly better next season. Let’s hope that even with our losses via transfer, we have a decent starting 5 and then we can get a deeper bench via the portal. Would love to see Davis come off the bench and think he will be better, but with the losses he may be a starter.

Atlason, Davis, and Hick give us enough scoring from deep. PLEASE BU do everything to keep these guys and Burch, who I feel is a Lemon-type quality player.

I think most would agree that Thomas is good enough to come off the bench and be effective, but dang his lack of PT is not a good sign.

Just wanna add, for some of us on this fan board, BU hoops never takes a break during the year. We are all in - all the time.

THANK GOD we have some GREAT fans on here who continue to post after the last game of the season to keep us chugging along until next season.
Thanks DC for giving us this place for that!

Bradley basketball is a special thing and my #1 Love in the way of sports teams.

Thanks Little Brave! I do believe Bradley has the best fans in the MVC and among the best and most loyal fans in the country.
Coach Wardle and players will be back next year and hopefully compete for another championship. Meanwhile, we'll try to keep everyone informed about the recruiting if we hear or read anything.

I cant emphasize enough how much that is appreciated. During the early part of the off season I get on here every day to catch any good news about recruiting. Hungry for news about the next Connor Hickman or Malevy Leons. Keep up the good work!!!

Malevy no longer has any college athletic eligibility. So he has played his last college basketball game.

I always hate to see the end of the season, but that is tempered by the fact it also means spring is here, and within a couple weeks I'll be sitting in Dozer Park watching the Chiefs.

Why would Davis come off the bench again? Depending on who comes back, plug him at the wing. Or the 2, for that matter. Our challenge will be PG - depending on what Duke does - and the 5 (depending on what Darius does). Burch isn’t starter quality yet (way too ball dominant for what Bradley runs and does not see the floor).
                      What’s wrong with this lineup:
                      1 - Deen (I think he stays)
                      2 - Davis (or Burch)
                      3 - Davis
                      4 - Atlason (or Hannah)
                      5 - Hannah (or Thomas)
And the 2 freshmen (Have they signed yet?) as bench guys.
That’s your 8 - without portal guys yet. Meta will probably be in the mix because he’ll get better.

Yep, no Hickman. Against Cincinnati, he played his way into the Big 10 (not IU, they’re a mess) or the Big 12. I think he’s out. Too bad, I’m a fan of his.

I was at the Cincinnati game and a couple of their fans were shocked at the size of the Bradley contingent. They said the road fans don’t travel to Cincinnati to support their team.

I really really hope Hickman stays, but like you said, he could get on a BIG10 team most likely if he wants to go that direction. However, I would say he put a lot of effort into the post-season games and I wonder if he would have done that if he wasn't going to come back.

In regards to your projected line up, Davis is really a forward that sometimes plays the 3. He would be a big liability at the 2 spot and really fits the 3/4 position much better. Atlason is also not ready to start imo. So this roster needs quite of help for next year imo.

I meant a recruit who be just as good as Hickman or Leons. Players we can watch as they play their careers at Bradley

I will say this again in that Hannah, Hickman and Deen are at the right level if they prefer to be starters on a good team. Zek thought it was in his best interest to leave and he ended up being a sub on a bad team. I doubt he received much more money in transferring to Rhode Island, hope he likes to ski.
The other important thing is if they stay they will have a great chance to win another championship, the Valley Tour. and go to the Big Dance.
Their chances have gone up considerably with Drake and more then likely Ind. ST. losing coaches and players.
