    He needed to shoot more.

Yes but I think that will come with confidence

You would think the coaches were aware that he was our best 3 pt shooter percentage wise.....and yet they didn't seem to do a thing to try and get him more shots. I don't understand that at all.

I think he really needs to work on a quicker release. He takes way to long to decide and then to shoot.

Concur, this is why he saw some success early but was then restricted more the rest of the year. Opponents, especially in the MVC, got film on him. His success this year was mostly early and against non-conference opponents.

Can't wait to see what we have leftover from this year's team. If we stay stable and keep most of our returnees, add at least 1 impactful portal player or more, we could actually be favored in the Valley next year! I'm happy to see Drake's Devries and son gone for next year because they had our number!!! I'm torn about Indiana State!! They are such a fun team to watch especially with their star player Avila, I would hate to see them move on! It could help Bradley get to the Dance easier, but if Indiana St. Can keep their team intact one more year, how fun would it be to have a top 25 team in the Valley! It certainly would help our MVC stature as a league. I think Schertz at most will stay 1 more year before the Major Schools grab him!!! There will be high expectations next year, if Indiana State stays intact!!! I would love for Bradley to play a top 25 team during the season because we never get that opportunity! If Schertz leaves though, the Valley will be Wide open next year!!!!

He can shoot yet he quit shooting and when he is not scoring he needs to at least rebound. Again I hope he improves yet there is no way he can replace or even come close to taking the 4 spot that was Leons on the team. He seems to be a tweener as he is not quick enough to play guard and not athletic and physical enough to play inside and rebound plus defend..I really do want him to succeed and trust our coach in making the right decision.

Good points as this is what I saw in him.

This staff needs to find transfers that can come in and immediately contribute.Good luck to the players that decide to stay or leave.
Well 2 of the 4 players I wanted to stay are leaving. Hope by sometime tomorrow we know who else is leaving or staying.

Well Duke & Burch are confirmed to stay, and Davis doesn't seem like he would leave at this point. So if we do get to keep Hannah that would be great imo. Land a good 2 guard out of the portal and I think we are back where we started at least.

The MVC will be wide open next year with a lot of unknowns. Nearly all the top scorers, and many of the talented players have left or run out of eligibility, and we don't know yet who will replace them. Most of the MVC teams took a huge hit, and the ones that didn't (Valparaiso, Illinois State, Evansville) have a long way to go to become competitive for the top. So the one thing that the portal has done is keep basketball fans interested through April, May, June, and the rest of the summer to see who teams lose and who they will land, and how it affects each team's outlook for next season.

I am not sure if that is a good thing. Those players leaving helped make the Valley a stronger conference and respected around the country. With those players gone helps us but hurts the conference

Yep. The valley was much improved this year as compared to the last few, primarily due to some upper classmen still staying like Devries, Brodie, Leons, etc as well as better talent and performance out of Belmont, SIU, etc. The conference improved its NET to 10th place in the country, and should have ended up with multiple NCAA bids, I think it is safe to say INSb was incorrectly left out of the field, and BU had a great shot at an at-large bid if Hickman hadn't gone down to injury early in the year. 2-3 more non-conference wins + a win against ISUb/Drake would have likely put BU in a strong position for an at-large this year.

With the gutting of teams like Belmont, Drake, ISUb (soon, most likely), and others in the conference, if they can't reload in the portal it could be a big down year for the conference with no team having a shot at an at-large.

Schertz was quite knowledgeable of who at DII was available and would help (Bledson, Swope), and kinda lucked in
landing Robbie who had multiple other solid offers - then,he leveraged having Robbie to poach & land Jayson Kent,
inherited Julian Larry and added Conwell from the Portal...
ALL the right moves to build the team he wanted, but maybe someone else will do it in 2024-25 - hoping it's us.

Definitely had all the pieces fall together, or get put together. Pretty masterful roster construction imo. Got to work creatively and think outside the box as much as possible to get a good roster put together these days.
