The problem is the Power conference team wont play mid-majors. Like DaCoach said earlier Illinois did not play any mid -majors this year. That is wrong.

Whatever the Mountain West did this year, the MVC needs to do everything it possibly can to copy that. Granted most of the Mountain West programs are a little bit of a higher profile than most of the MVC, but even getting marginally closer to what the Mountain West did this year should result in a 2 bid conference for the MVC. Frankly I think Drake, Indiana State, and Bradley are all NCAA tournament caliber teams, but BU lost 4-5 games we shouldn't have, and good/great teams don't do that. And what I posted above is why Indiana State is out as well.

They played midmajors, they just played them at home or neutral site. They played Valpo, FAU, Colgate, and depending how you feel about the Horizon, Oakland.

But if the net was created to be a catch all formula that factors who you played in, and they ended up at 29, shouldn’t they be in? What’s the point of creating this net formula if it’s not the main consideration when determining who gets in? If a team 20-30 spots higher than you can get in, what does the formula even matter?

This is the question everyone needs to hold the committee accountable on if possible. However, they have always said it is just a piece of what they use, not the only thing. So yeah. We mid-majors are always playing against a stacked deck and have to be truly exceptional to make it happen.

Yes Bradley had the potential for the best at-large resume. Kinda sucks when you lose 5 straight after the start we had though. Good and great teams just don't do that.

Regardless of the speculation about why ISU didn’t get in, I’d like to see one of these high profile analysts types discuss in depth why the P6 schools are afraid to play the good Mid-Majors. We know why but I’d love to see and hear those folks discuss it on national TV. And every time a mid-major coach gets some airtime, put out the challenge to the big boys to schedule a game.

Those P6 schools will play you on their home court which really does not help unless you can win that game. I feel Bradley"s schedule this season was the best as far as playing great mid-major teams both at home and on the road. I hope we continue on this path and forget about playing the power schools unless it is on a neutral floor in a tour. There are plenty of good mid-majors out there to schedule.

The NCAA has said in past years that they put less weight on losses that occurred when key players were out.
Maybe they meant that only happens with the Power Conference teams.

They won in St. Louis, they wouldn't have received an at-large that year. Depends on your definition of good. BU wasn't able to get an NCAA win that year. So yeah, its all about expectations. IMO a good team is one that win a game in the tournament.

I try to be a realist and state facts when possible. I'm a BU alum, a fan, I take my kids to BU games, and love watching BU.
