Though they would be ineligible for the NBA draft if they withdraw, they could still sign as a free agent with an NBA team, or a NBA Summer League deal, or G-League deal if they didn't want to return to college.
    Ok Thanks. Interesting to know

Here is an interesting case.... 6'0" sophomore walk-on guard J.Z. Zaher of Bowling Green put his name into the NBA Draft, and tonight announces he is staying in the draft. - https://x.com/JonRothstein/status/1795934620321452436

J.Z. Zaher averaged only 4.4 points his senior year in high school and received no college offers. He spent his freshman season as a walk-on at Eastern Michigan (2022-23) and played one minute each in 2 games. He played the final minute in Eastern Michigan's game at Bradley when BU clobbered EMU 89-61 and EMU emptied their bench for the final minute.

He did not score in either game he played in that season.
He transferred to Bowling Green this past season (2023-24), and played in 7 games as a walk-on. He averaged 4 minutes per game, and he totaled 5 points for the season on 1-8 (12.5%) shooting and 2-5 (40%) on free throws.

What are his chances of getting drafted?

Missouri State gets Chase Martin, a transfer from Purdue. He is the son of new Missouri State head coach Cuonzo Martin.
Chase Martin is a 6'2" senior guard who didn't play much in his 4 years at Purdue. He averaged under 2 minutes per game for his career, and scored a total of 6 points in 4 years. He has one season left for his Covid year.

          • Final transfer portal numbers 2024

of the 2,035 DI players entering the portal, 22% still have not found a school to enroll & play at

of 1,020 D2 players entering the portal, 61% are left hanging- no landing spot.

Options for them still include waiting it out for a DI offer, or DII, DIII, NAIA or one of the other smaller association schools( ACCA, NCCAA), or juco if eligible. I have seen posts & releases by smaller schools that still have openings or need players, but many do not offer full scholarships.

            overall
            3,550 entered, 1,990 transferred & enrolled -
            35% still uncommitted

            • This is interesting. I would also like the percentage of athletes that finished obtaining their degree ( even if took 5-6 years) before and after the NIL money took place

                • The NCAA Division I Council has voted to shorten the transfer portal windows for FBS and FCS football as well as men's and women's basketball, the NCAA announced on Tuesday. - https://www.espn.com/college-sports/...ansfer-windows

Will these changes will have any effect, or will they will generate more lawsuits against the NCAA?
