Damn! Pretty cold blooded to do it while the tournament is still going on. I do agree that Dana will be next. Yak, maybe. However I think he bought at least 1 more year with the SIU upset. Everyone else is in the beginning stages of takeover rebuilds or entrenched by legacies i.e Powell, Pedon, etc. Alexander is a legacy, Prohm is somewhat legendary at Murray St. The final 4 coaches are just untouchable.

The attached is the SIU announcement of firing Mullins. It sounds more like an announcement of extending him than firing him.

Nagy did indeed retain Howard who posted on the SIU athletics site, since been taken down, that he and his family were grateful for the retention and was looking forward to working with Nagy. I don't know what happened, if there was a subsequent falling out or what, but it didn't take long for it to happen. I don't know how Howard, or any assistant, can establish roots anywhere for himself and his family if he moves every year. Howard was at Texas for a year before SIU. Something suddenly changed. Maybe it was because of a better money deal for Jerrance, but it seemed strange coming right after both sides made a big deal about him staying, and they said all those nice things.

Not what I was told. They were trying to be nice and hopefully give him a little bargaining chip (although very little). What would you have them write in a press release. Also this deal with Arizona State was done more than a week ago. Not sure why the hold up in announcing it.Comment
