Illinois State has been playing much better and they've won 4 of their last 5 games, including a win at Indiana State. Their only loss in their last 5 games was the close 48-45 loss at Bradley.
And their leading scorer over the last 5 games has been freshman Johnny Kinzinger. So they should be expected to handle last-place Valparaiso today, right?
But at halftime, Valpo is leading ISU 44-31. Johnny Kinzinger is scoreless. But still time to come back - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601928

UNI at SIU tied at halftime 34-34. The two teams' leading scorers- Xavier Johnson has 7 points, Nate Heise is scoreless - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601927

Missouri State leads UIC 36-31 in Springfield, MO, despite their top scorer, Alston Mason, being scoreless so far- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601926

If Belmont wins their home game today against Evansville (Belmont is favored by 10.5 points), they will tie UNI for 4th place. Right now, UNI's NET is 116 and Belmont's is 121. Since they both won, and UNI beat SIU on the road, a team with a much higher NET than Belmont's opponent Evansville, it seems unlikely Belmont can pass UNI's NET and get the tiebreaker.

Belmont is running up the score on Evansville. It is now 60-36 with under 12 minutes left in the game - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601923

Winning by a big margin will help Belmont, since the NET gives "extra credit" to a team based on margin of victory.
They have the incentive to try to catch UNI's NET and grab 4th place, since it is the final spot that gives a bye for the Thursday games.
