We need another strong start and just take care of business tonight. We were a heavy favorite against them last year at home and did not play good and were lucky to win that game. They obviously have been playing better yet we are the best team and need to prove that tonight.

I remember last year's game in Peoria. Illinois State lead at halftime, then slowly stretched the lead to 10 points midway through the 2nd half before Bradley came back to tie and send it to overtime. Bradley won in overtime 79-75.

It's getting closer to a sellout. Here are all the tickets left on Ticketmaster.
I was lucky to snag a couple extra lower bowl tickets from someone who wanted to unload them.

He has been the Linke that we needed to help our inside game. He seems to know what he is capable of and doesn't try to do anything that hurts the team.

Wow, what an ugly game, but we'll take it. I almost said, "a win is a win", but that phrase is too overused.

I just looked back and unless I missed one, the last time Bradley played a game in which both teams scored under 50 points was a game on December 11, 2001, in Coach Molinari's final season. Bradley played at Louisiana-Lafayette and lost 42-43. It might have been that game that got Coach Mo fired.

It is also rare to win a game while shooting under 30%. Tonight, they shot 29.6% overall (16-54, and 8-27 in each half) and 25% from three (7-28 ).
Bradley had only 12 points in the paint, which might be the lowest this season.

Bradley pulled ahead in the 2nd half thanks to a 9-0 run during which ISU went 8 minutes and 46 seconds without a point. The score went from 37-36 in favor of ISU with 14:00 left in the 2nd half to 45-37 in favor of Bradley with 4:14 left. Bradley's last basket was an Almar Atlason 3-pointer with 7:30 left. Over the last 7:30 of the game, the only Bradley points were one free throw by Almar with 3:54 left, and the 2 huge free throws by Christian Davis with 20 seconds left.

                    Stats- https://bradleybraves.com/sidearmstats/mbball/media

Bradley is now 12-6 in the MVC, and they reach 20 wins (20-9) for the 5th time under Coach Wardle, and the 5th time in the last 7 seasons.

The Ameren Player of the Game went to Malevy Leon, who had a terrible offensive night going 2-7 overall, and 1-5 from three for just 8 points. But he played terrific defense all night, contributed 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.
The rest of the team also played great defense, holding ISU to 28.3% overall, and 13.0% from three (3-23).

Bradley holds on to 3rd place, one game ahead of SIU. SIU plays Sunday at Evansville.

The number of offensive rebounds by ISU is concerning. We let our opponents due that in St Louis and we will be in trouble.

If BU shoots 29% again we will be in even bigger trouble.

Yes, even more concerning than the rebounds

Tonight's win was Coach Wardle's 250th career win as a head coach.

We looked tired so hoping coach gives them somewhat of a break in practice. They can talk all about the defense yet if we have another game on offense like this we will get beat by many points. The talk of being tired because the 3 games we played in a short time is concerning because with the tour. coming up you have to win 3 games in 3 days. Hoping for a much better game on offense against SIU.
