  • Darius Hannah to return next year?

Darius Hannah says he will definitely play next season with his Covid year. But when he's asked whether he's "coming back next year", it's not quite as clear what his answer is. But, an answer comes from someone off-camera who says he's "coming back"- https://twitter.com/hoijim/status/1758535849111638041

It would be great to see him back next year!

I truly hope Darius stays with us next year. I think he still has improvement left in him and I would love to see him be more aggressive offensively. I'm going to start the senior night chant right now... "One more year"!

After going 8-10 in Wednesday night's win over UIC, Darius Hannah has moved up to 2nd in the country in Field Goal Percentage - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...alPct/dir/desc

The player ranked #1 is former Missouri State forward Jonathan Mogbo, who transferred and is playing this season at University of San Francisco.

Darius has his flaws like any player but man he just keeps getting better every year. He's so fun to watch. As a freshman he could barely dribble it seemed at times. Now? He was basically unstoppable against UIC.

He already merits all conference possibilities now but next year? Sky's the limit with his athleticism.
          Go Braves!

Hope Hannah does return along with Deen. Our two freshman of Atlason and Burch and the addition of Jaquon Johnson and Timoty van der Knaap makes me excited. Do not see any reason Bradley should not be in contention for the MVC top spot. Maybe Matthew Zobrist will decide to commit. Quite the stable of guards along with Hickman too. Still need one to replace Leons. Hope Meta does not get discouraged and stays. He needs to work on agility and develop some post moves. This season is not over yet, but already thinking about next year. "Go Braves"

Hannah, Deen and Hickman would make for a great nucleus to start next season with improvement from the other returning players. Need that 1 player to move into Leons spot

Video seemed pretty clear to me. He’s back. Dude knows how to finish a job.

Just a note Matthew Zobrist is class of 2025 not 2024.

The tweet says, and the voice sounds like, the “someone” is Brian Wardle. It also sounds like he (Wardle) followed it up with “just kidding” and then something about not putting pressure on him that I couldn’t completely make out.

I think it’s not impossible that Davis/Atlason could improve enough to have one start at the four. Won’t replace Leons, but with growth else where may not need to. Leons defense and rebounding will be the biggest hole. Davis is smaller for a four, but not overly so for the Valley, and he’s solid on defense and can hit a three. Atlason has all the tools on both ends, but needs to work on consistency on offense and his overall defensive game, which has already improved quite a bit.

Deen, Hickman, transfer, Davis/Atlason, Hannah with Burch an explosive 6th man, Thomas or Meta being the back up big is a really good start if they all stay. I’ll still take a starting 3 man in the Zek player type and another point (I never know how good freshmen will be, it may be Johnson is good enough already).

This is a great callout. I think people are sleeping on Atlason. I recognize he's not the freakishly great athlete that Hannah is, but go back and watch him freshman year. You could see how good he might be as he matured in his game. I see so much of that with Atlason, too. He's already getting better at moving his feet on defense. He's showing that he isn't just a 3-point specialist and has some slash to the hoop potential. From someone as young as him, I really like where he might be even by the start of next year.

I totally agree with you. I think Almar has a tremendous upside. He is a Freshman learning the American game. Wardle recognizes that also. He is not putting pressure on him to be the go to guy as a Freshman. He is having him learn the game before he turns him loose on the opponents. I think starting next season we will start hearing and seeing more of Almar and so will our opponents. I see in the recruiting thread we are recruiting his teammate from Iceland. From what I have seen he would be a great addition to the team
