2:40 left and SIU leads 65-62. ISU Blue keeps shooting themselves in the foot as they've committed 15 turnovers but will be shooting FT's out of the tv timeout.

Final score: SIU 74 Indiana State 69
Box score- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601900
Some bad shot selections by Indiana State down the stretch. Instead of going to Avila, who was 12-18 for 30 points, Isaiah Swope took a couple bad shots, and then they had to foul, giving SIU the win.
Indiana State has lost 2 in a row, and they are now 22-5 overall and 13-3 in the MVC.
Drake, who is currently 12-3, can move into a tie for 1st place with a win Sunday at home against Murray State.

Indiana State's first 3 losses were all Quad 1 losses, which don't hurt their NET too badly.
But these last 2 losses, to Illinois State (NET now 193) and SIU (NET 117) will hurt.
Indiana State's NET rank dropped from 20 to 28 with the loss to Quad 4 Illinois State. And with tonight's loss at Quad 2 SIU, it will likely drop into the 30's.
That is probably enough to be excluded from an at-large bid.

SIU gets a huge win as they beat ISU Blue 74-69, their first win against a ranked team since 2013. Xavier Johnson had another really good game as he had 23 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and just 1 turnover in playing all 40 minutes. A player who stepped for the Salukis in the 2nd half was freshman Kennard Davis as he scored all 12 of his points in the half. For the Sycamores Avila did all he could as he had a game high 30 points but not having Jason Kent in the game really hurt them. Their leading scorer Isaiah Swope had probably his worst game of the year as he had just 6 points on 2-10, 0-6 from 3, shooting. I'll be surprised if Drake isn't tied with ISU Blue after their home game against Murray St. ISU should have an easy schedule as in their last 4 games they play at Valpo, are home to UIC, are at Evansville and finish at home against Murray St. Drake's last 4 games are home to Belmont, at UNI, at UIC and finish at home against BU. SIU is home to Murray St, at Evansville, at BU and finish at home with UNI.

I watched the end of the Evansville game at Illinois State. ILSU won 86-79 - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601903
ISU wore their road red uniforms at home, for some reason. But one thing I noticed, the ISU jerseys have such tiny lettering across the front showing the school name. Shouldn't your school name be the most prominent thing on the jersey? Who designed this? The small lettering is not visible on 99% of the TV shots, and probably not legible from the stands.

Their top scorer Burford (30 min/game) had an eye injury a couple weeks ago and has been out -
so has reserve Davis (hand injury, 20 min/game). I saw many woeful predictions that losing two key players from a bottom-dwelling
team would surely tank their entire season - right?
Well, suddenly ISU;s the best they've played all season. On a winning streak & knocked off ranked Indiana State!
The 2 guys who benefitted MOST from all that open playing time are subs Poindexter & Kinziger.
So-- it took a couple of injuries to open up 30 & 20 mpg respectively...& finally they get a chance to show what they've got..
And bingo - Poindexter & Kinziger are BOTH playing 35 to 38 min/game now & they are ISU's two BEST SCORERS!
..Both avg double digits since Burford & Davis went out & Poindexter had 27 Sunday, Kinziger got 18 & 31 the last 2 games on 6-9 from 3-pt range.
Time will tell, but gotta make you wonder if Pedon knows his personnel. He didn't even know who his two best scorers are?

Coach,I agree with you on the Redbirds uniforms. The small font is silly. In regards to why they were wearing red at a home game, it was a red out game….the same reason Bradley wore red at home against Drake.
Yoda, I do follow the Redbirds, and I believe Pedon knows what he has player wise. Poindexter was horrendous from 3 point land for most of the season, and only just now, in 3 of the last 4 games has broken out of his season long slump.
Johnny Kinziger has played positively all season, and as you point out, with the foot injury to Burford and hand injury to Davis, has been thrust into a more prominent role and has been told to be more aggressive in his play. The coaching staff knew what he could do. I believe they just wanted him to get the feel for the college game and gain some confidence. He obviously has found that confidence!!
