It's amazing how close things are in the middle of the standings. 4 teams tied for 4th, 2 teams tied for 8th. As long as we beat ISU Red and SIU at home we can win 1 of our last 3 road games at UNI, Missouri St and Drake I think we should finish no worse then 3rd.

Valparaiso leads 41-38 at Missouri State at halftime - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601899

A bit strange to broadcast this game between 2 teams that are hopelessly out of contention as the MVC-TV Network game today, especially with the much more appealing game with Indiana State at SIU later today.
Valparaiso has only 1 turnover and is 6-14 from three, which has kept them ahead. Missouri State is hanging in courtesy of a huge foul differential, and getting 17 free throws compared to Valpo's 3.

Valparaiso lead for most of the 2nd half, but then completely fell apart in the final few minutes.
Valpo took an 8 point lead over Missouri State with 7:48 left, 72-64. But, then Missouri State went on an 18-0 run to pull ahead 82-72.
Valpo didn't score again until a meaningless layup at the buzzer that made the final score Missouri State 82 - Valparaiso 74 - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601899

MSU's leading scorer Alston Mason didn't play in the game due to flu-like symptoms. Chance Moore led the Bears with 25 points but was 2-8 from the FT line. Matthew Lee had 19 points and 8 assists and N. J. Benson had 18 points and 13 rebounds. As Da Coach said Valpo went scoreless from the 7:42 mark to the cheapy at the end of the game. During that period they missed 12 shots and committed 4 turnovers. Both teams actually went scoreless from the 7:42 mark for 3:00. m MSU then proceeded to outscore Valpo 18-2 in the last 4:48. Isaiah Stafford led the Beacons with 24 points but was just 9-25 from the field, missing his last 5 shots. Valpo was called for 10 more fouls and was just 9-11 from the FT line whereas the Bears made 15 FT's and shot 26. If we don't beat UNI and the Bears we could find ourselves tied for 3rd Wednesday.

That’s a big deal. I think Indiana St. goes down without Kent playing.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Jason Kent is not in the starting lineup at SIU. And he didn't even make the trip there. Schertz said in his pre game show that they hope to have him back for their next game.

Get well Jason. I want to beat you but I sure want you healthy. A good young man.

Wow! SIU has no answer for Avila! He is putting the team on his back right now!

SIU’s shooting really is abysmal right now and 3 point shooting all around has been terrible.

Indiana State continues their streak of games where they struggle with 3-point shooting. They are 5-17 so far.
SIU is worse, just 3-16 so far.

ISU Blue hasn't trailed in the game, leading by as much as 13 but SIU has been slugging away at that lead are now down just 43-41 with 15:07 left in the game. Avila had 19 in the first half but hasn't scored in this half. Xavier Johnson has led the was for SIU with 15 points

11:12 left Avila scored 6 straight for ISU Blue and they lead 46-43. However Avila has 3 fouls so SIU needs to get it inside to try and take advantage of that.
