  • BU plays North Carolina to 1-1 draw

Congratulations to Jim Derose and the Bradley Braves soccer team. They are playing in the Wake Forest Tournament and played a 1-1 draw Friday night against North Carolina. UNC was a Top 20 team coming into the season. They now will play the #1 ranked team in the country, Wake Forest, on Sunday at 1:30 CST. Bradley is now 2-0-1.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ? Sophomore forward Chris Cutshaw (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.) knocked home a bicycle kick from close range in the 72nd minute to draw the Braves even and senior goalkeeper Mike Haynes (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap H.S.) made a career-best nine saves as Bradley (2-0-1) remained unbeaten on the young season by earning a 1-1 draw against North Carolina (0-1-2) in Friday's opening game of the Wake Forest Tournament at Spry Stadium.

Bradley has twice played against the #1 ranked team in the US, back in 2001 when SMU was part of the MVC for soccer and was ranked #1. Bradley lost twice to them that season, 2-0.
