The Redbirds not shooting 3's much better as they are 3-15 from 3.

Indiana State came back and took the lead midway through the 2nd half. But from that point, Illinois State shot very well, played terrific defense, and regained the lead. They stretched it to double-digits, and held on to beat # 23 ranked Indiana State in Terre Haute 80-67 - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401601894

Indiana State drops to 22-4 and 13-2 in the MVC. Illinois State improves to 12-14, and 6-9 in the MVC.
Indiana State, consistently one of the top shooting teams in the country all season, shot poorly tonight (36.4% overall, 21.1% from three).
ILSU freshman Johnny Kinzinger had 31 points. Illinois State could cause some problems in St. Louis if they can play like they did tonight.

I know Kent left Bradley but I hope he is not seriously injured. Has there been a followup on his head injury?

It is being reported by a source on twitter as a "leg injury", though it also appeared he might have been hit in the head under the basket. - https://twitter.com/SportsCastProd/s...79642788090192
There is no word yet on his condition.

Johnny Kinzinger, who averaged 6.3 points a game, had the game of his life as he ended up with a career high of 31 on 10-12 shooting and 9-11 from the free throw line to help lead The Redbirds to a 80-67 win at ISU Blue. The Birds did this without their leading scorer Darius Buford who was hurt. The Birds played zone pretty much all game and the Sycamores couldn't hit the broad side of the barn all night as they ended up 8-38 from 3. Upset of the year in the Mo Valley. I'm guessing the Sycamores appearance in the top 25 will last just 1 week unfortunately.

There are no “guaranteed wins” in college basketball. There have been multiple upsets of ranked teams this season. Northwestern beats Purdue, but loses to Chicago State is one example. Teams that have deep benches and healthy players should prevail at the MVC tournament.

Impressive performance by Illinois State and by freshman Johnny Kinzinger (31 points). He had been averaging just 6.3 points per game. Illinois State was without their leading scorer Darius Burford (13.2 ppg) out with a foot injury. 2 other reserve players, Brandon Lieb (leg injury) and Jordan Davis (hand injury) were also out.

I'm wondering if there is some kind of issue with Robbie Avila. He played 37 minutes, but was not very effective in this game, He had just 6 points on 2-10 shooting and 0-5 from three. He did not appear to play his usual inside game like we've seen, but spent much more time on the perimeter setting screens. He also seemed to be bothered on defense by Illinois State's players who were much quicker. Forward Myles Foster had 19 points and 12 rebounds for ILSU and forward Kendall Lewis had 6 points and 13 rebounds.

The Drake-Evansville game stayed close throughout, and was a 1-possession game (DU 68-UE 66) until 4:30 left in the game. Then Drake scored 5 straight to open a 73-66 lead. Evansville came back and tied the game 75-75 on a Ben Humrichous (18 points) long three with 4.4 seconds left. But then Drake's Atin Wright (26 points) won the game 78-75 with a long three at the buzzer. The officials reviewed the video and determined that the shot was good and that time had expired on the shot. So Drake escapes with the 78-75 win at Evansville.

Evansville almost pulls off back-to-back home upsets of Bradley and Drake.

The game had 13 lead changes and was tied 7 times. Another really good Mo Valley game. I'm telling you Arch Madness is going to be banana nuts. Teams that are in 5th through 10th are just separated by 2 games so seedings will probably go down to the last game. We just need to take care of our own business to stay in the top 4.
