In a game that saw 24 lead changes and 11 ties and niether team had a double digit lead ISU Blue held Missouri State scoreless for a 3:00 stretch late in the game and held on for a 71-69 win in Springfield. Once again the Sycamore starters did the job as they scored 69 or their 71 points led by Ryan Cornwell with 24 points.. They were almost to relient on the 3 as out of their 64 shots 40 of them were from 3. They only made 12 of them. MSU was much worse from 3 as they were just 4-20. Alston Mason made 2 of those 4 for a game high 26.

The Trees need to lose one before St. Louis. Hard to win out in the Valley. Drake had to lose to us to go all the way last year. Not that they “had” too. But it’s always nice to be humbled before you hit STL where anything can happen.

I think we broke them with that beatdown in the MVC Championship game of 2019, and they've run out of gas...
