No time to get out defensive focus back on track starting tomorrow and heading into St.Louis. Our primary focus should be playing our best ball and winning the tournament. If by chance we come up short, then we can have discussions on the NIT. Anything can happen especially on a neutral site. Bradley can do it. All starts tomorrow. Let's put a muzzle on the Dogs so to speak tomorrow. "Go Braves"

I was really hoping for a return to the Big Dance this season, but should we get NIT invite, that's pretty good to do that in b2b seasons, especially with our key losses from last year. Lots of season ahead and while it seems Indy St is gonna cruise to the reg. season title, keep playing hard and you never know what can happen!

I'd be very happy with an NIT bid this year. I was expecting BU to have a worse year this year than last given what was lost to transfers and graduations etc, the hot opening sure changed expectations, but mine have sure pulled back recently again closer to what they were at the start of the season.

Same - I did expect more from our newcomers, but the Freshmen have been a bright spot amidst some of their struggles.
I do think that this season's team (contrary to pop Brave belief) has a better chance than last season's to win Arch Madness and do better in postseason, as we have outside scoring threats, which cost us in Arch Madness last year. Duke and Hick in the backcourt can carry us.

I wouldn't count on an NIT bid anymore. They're trying to squeeze out the mid-majors in the same fashion the NCAA has done. They made changes to the format last year and no longer give automatic bids to conference champions that don't make it to the NCAA. Here's the bit on that below and note, they take the top two teams in NET rankings from each of the major six conferences and it doesn't matter if a mid-major has a higher NET ranking. Seems to me that they are just working their way toward having two leagues eventually, but I know many here have already said as much.

Regular-season conference champions who don't make the NCAA Tournament will no longer receive an automatic bid to the NIT under new selection criteria announced Friday by the NCAA. Instead, the top two teams in the NET rankings from each of the major six conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, SEC) that did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament will earn the first 12 NIT automatic bids and have the right to host first-round games.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Yeah this change was total garbage and it tells everyone where college basketball is going right now. I think this is a ridiculous change and egregious.

Totally agree Stryker. It’s a joke

Of course, the emphasis should be on finishing strong and winning the MVC tournament (still possible). But should that not happen, I wonder if it is time to rethink the CBI/CIT tournament, given that an NIT bit is possibly off of the table under the new rules? The idea of a few games in an intimate setting (on campus) actually excites me.
