UNI got a bunch of their points on FTs awarded by officials when their players drove directly into the Bradley defenders. Last season, many of those would have been called offensive fouls. I can't say I like the emphasis on calling all the contact on the defender.

Missouri State beat Southern Illinois in OT 76-75. So Bradley got some buffer between SIU and UNI tonight in the standings. 2 games up on both of them

A little off defensively in half two, but overall good effort. Hick was great on both ends tonight. Deen nice job at point again (glad he’s ok again, as he’s scared me these last two with ankle issues). Leons, Hannah nice nights. Hopefully Leons is ok, sounded like a potential concussion.

Davis was solid on defense (though I’ve never seen a guy foul three point shooters more - he does it all the time even before these last two games). Burch was ok, Atlason struggled. I thought maybe Meta could play tonight a little as UNI is not overly athletic, but he still struggled on defense. Thomas was ok.

I think when healthy we are a top three Valley team for sure, and we could beat those top two teams in the tournament I think. I think there’s a pretty clear separation from the top three and the rest of the Valley. Man I really wish we had that first Murray State game back when we were still healthy. That game will bother me all year with the standings so close.

Side note: it is just me or does Atlason get so many fouls called on him that don’t seem like fouls. I even watch replay to see if I missed something and I don’t see it. Sometimes he just weakly fouls with his arms or uses too much body, but there are so many times it seems like he did nothing and it’s stilled called. It’s like Valley refs just have a reputation on him now and assume he fouled.

These next two ought to be wins before Drake, but don’t sleep on these teams Bradley. Run them out of the gym.

The last foul call on Davis, when he was charged for fouling Born on that late 3-point shot, was not a foul. The replay in the arena appeared to show that he never made contact with Born, and it was a total flop that the ref fell for.

And, yes, Almar gets called for fouls that other player don't get called for. Maybe it's because he is a freshman, or maybe it's his bigger body that the refs just anticipate a foul. He works hard to avoid fouling, and even the coaches seem to think some aren't justified.

Yes, that’s true. Davis, Leons, and Hickman have done better along with Deen always being good and Atlason getting more attempts plus Thomas and Burch looking solid at the line we’ve really improved lately there. Hope they keep it up, cause we don’t get a large volume of them, so we need to take advantage when we do get there. It’s nice to see!

IMO, Deen and Hick the best 1-2 guard combo for BU since DB Jr and Kennel, and Ruff/Crouch back in '06-'07.

I have been pleased with KT's play lately and could be similar role to Boya with his length and ability to affect defender's shots. He actually has a pretty nice touch - has tried a few 3s that were right on, but just a tad long.

I was thinking for much of the game - Man, how much are we gonna miss Leons next season? Just don't find guys like him very often. He has been pretty special!

A bit off topic, but for those that tried to sync up the WMBD stream on the TuneIn app with the game, were you kicked out at some point by a random Peoria Kia ad? I was twice. It happened during actual play, not a time out.

I gave up attempting to sync the WMBD audio stream with TV broadcasts or ESPN+ video streams. Even if you get it close to synchronized, the streams quickly keep changing somehow to throw off the synchronization.
As much as I prefer Dave Snell, it wasn't worth my time and aggravation. The TV broadcasters on CBSSports, ESPN, and the MVC-TV Network are all pretty good.

Leons will be greatly missed next year. He is so valuable. Does a lot of little things that don't show up in box score. He also adds a calmness to the team which is very important. Very versatile and talented. Best compliment is that he is a winning player.

I hear you. But I like the BU focused commentary, and when there is a foul, their explanation or outrage. WMBD stream needs to get a pause button or even better, a "sync with video" button on their website. I understand the need for the delay when over the air, that is an FCC requirement for live broadcasts to avoid broadcasting swear words or Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunctions. But the online stream should not have any of those limitations.
