  • Once a Brave, Always a Brave

This is not about the summer tournament team "Always a Brave", but about a couple fan-favorite ex-Bradley players.
Ville Tahvanainen posted this photo of him posing in Iceland with Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye- https://twitter.com/Vtahvis/status/1750629821917311394

Both Ville and DLO are now playing professionally for teams in Iceland.
Ville initially signed with Haukar in the city of Hafnarfjordur, Iceland. He averaged 16.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 37.8% from three through the first couple months. But now he has moved to a different team, UMF Alftanes, where he has averaged 13.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 47.6% from three through his first 6 games there.
Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, who played professionally for 4 years since leaving Bradley in 2019, just recently signed with UMFN Najardvik, where he immediately became a starter and one of their top players. He is averaging 16.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.8 apg, and 33.3% from three through his first 4 games there.

What is ironic is that Ville and DLO never played together at Bradley, nor did they ever play on the Always a Brave team.
DLO played for the Braves from 2015-2019, and Ville played from 2019-2023.

But today, they played against each other for the first time in Njardvik, Iceland.
    DLO's team Njardvik beat Ville's team Alftanes 89-51- https://www.eurobasket.com/Basketbal..._56312-Iceland
Ville had an off game with only 5 points for the visitors, while DLO had 18 points for the winning home team.

One of my favorite Braves, DLO is playing this summer for his British National 3x3 team and they just won the qualifying tournament in Romania for a spot if the 2024 FIBA 3x3 European Championships.

3x3 basketball became an Olympic sport in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021), and will be an official Olympic sport again in next month's 2024 Paris Olympics.
The US did not enter a team in the Tokyo Olympics, but they do have a team and have qualified for the the 2024 Olympics which run from July 27 to August 11, 2024.

DLO may go down as one of the most underrated Bradley players ever (while here). He's really good!

100%. Guy was clutch and his defense was top notch. Beyond that, one of the nicest Braves of all time.

no doubt about it! He came up HUGE in that game - free throws and his defense. Though we can't look past Lundy who was the catalyst for that amazing comeback. I was so mad at that game I almost walked out! Man am I glad I didn't!
