Final scores from tonight's games- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...ype/2/group/18

4 of the 5 road teams won. Evansville was the only home team to win.
Evansville and Bradley win nail-biters, while UNI, Murray State, and Drake are double-digit winners.
Belmont and SIU fall to 4-3 in the conference, leaving Bradley and Murray State at 5-2, in 3rd place behind Drake and Indiana State (both 6-1).

Due to UNI's win head Coach Ben Jacobson tied the all time MVC record for Valley wins at 187. He tied Henry Iba of Oklahoma State. He'll have a chance to break the record at home on Saturday as they play SIU.

I was surprised to see that fact. That record refers only to MVC regular season league wins, not overall wins. And it does not include postseason MVC Tournament wins. Hank Iba's teams played in an era when there was not a postseason conference tournament.
Throughout most of the history of the MVC, successful coaches would usually get hired away by bigger schools and most never stayed as long as Iba (23 years in the MVC) or Jacobson (18th year)
Henry (Hank) Iba actually won a total of 752 games in his long coaching career (career record 752-333). 654 of them were with Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State). Many of those wins came after Oklahoma A&M left the MVC and joined the Big 8.

Here is Hank Iba's coaching history- https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb...ank-iba-1.html
In Iba's time, they played fewer conference games, so it took longer to accumulate 187 league wins.
The MVC never had more than 8 teams during the time Iba coached in the league, and at times it had 7 teams or even as few as 6 teams.
I believe the next most Valley wins by any current coach is Brian Wardle's 77 regular season league wins (he also has 10 MVC Tournament wins).
