There are other hotels for half to a third of that price, and even less if you don't stay downtown. But a lot of fans like to stay where the team stays. Unfortunately, the Embassy Suites management seems to know that and they appear to be trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of the fans.Originally posted by Ogre View PostComment

From what I was told, there is a very large "holiday" convention in town (Christmas decoration suppliers/retailers and such) at the convention center (which is very close to the Embassy Suites) this week. This is why we are seeing less hotel availability and high prices.....and just to add fuel to the fire, St. Louis City has a home soccer game Saturday night. The MVC post-season awards will be announced this week prior to the tournament games, and it will probably be similar to last year. Last year, with expansion to 12 teams and the tournament games starting at noon on Thursday, the MVC changed their format for announcing the awards. They announced the specialty awards (All-Bench & Most Improved teams) on the Tuesday prior to the games. Then they announced the POY, All-MVC teams, DPOY, NOY, FOY, COY, etc., at a dinner on the Wednesday evening prior to the tournament games.Comment
