  • No Itoo Hall Supper This Season

Story in the PJ Star says BU not doing the Itoo Hall Spaghetti Supper this season.

I can't find the story on the web-version of today's paper but it says the Red-White scrimmage will be Oct. 20
and the Athletic Department Auction will be Oct. 6, but that the event generally held in early October at the Itoo Hall will not be held this year due to "time constraints".
There will also be no Chicago Tip Off Luncheon this season as BU plays twice in Chicago and will combine events.

PS---one more note, that Jeremy Crouch is fully released and although still doing rehab "is pretty much a full go".

The Bradley website still shows the Red-White scrimmage to be scheduled Friday, Oct. 26--

So this represents a change in the schedule if the Red-White game is now on Saturday, Oct. 20. The article says the spaghetti supper will be combined with the Red-White scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 20. So apparently there will be a spaghetti dinner served at the event, and the coaches will introduce the players like they have done in past years at the Itoo Hall.

Also announced is the Bradley Basketball Preseason Gala is November 5th at the Pere Marquette. Tickets for that and for the Auction at the Paradice on October 6 are available at 677-2667.

Check your calendars. Pj star is wrong. The red/white is on October 26 with a spaghetti supper at 4:30 in the fieldhouse.

No Harry Caray's? They have done that lunch for over a decade! Very disappointed to hear that...I am sure Dutchy Caray is as well!

How about the "Smoker" at the Lariat Club,
is that still on or will it be cancelled because of Bruce Weber's being fired?

I actually dont mind this move... I have been to the ITOO hall get togethers in the past.. If the people at Bradley do this the RIGHT WAY, this could be fun and a way to involve the students more.

Thanks for the clarification, BU Fever.

I wondered if the PJ Star date might be incorrect.

I would like to reiterate how disappointing it is to hear there's no Harry Caray's luncheon. I think it's a big mistake to kill over a decade of tradition.

Most likely, this has to do with the season being bumped up. Since the NCAA has moved up the early dates for practices and games being allowed to begin (some teams are going to be playing exhibition games in October) this is likely a result of too much to adjust and re-organize this first year of the season being moved up.

They can make up for it with more pre-game events (especially the 2 in Chicago).

I thought they moved the season up last year... have they bumped them up again? Or did they bump up "1st day to practice" to allow more time to be ready for the bumped up season from last year?

I was thinking both the practice and game sked were bumped this year. I may be mistaken, but looking at schedules and events across the country, everything seems extremely early this year.

It sounds to me like the red-white date has been changed from friday oct.26 to sat oct. 20.; I understand the reasons but will miss the Itoo supper as the fieldhouse is too small to handle the food part of this venue.

NO- this is not true. The date published in the PJ Star is wrong. We have been assured by the people at Bradley that the Red-White game/spaghetti supper is still scheduled for Friday, October 26th.
