  • Booing the Braves at Carver- unacceptable

Nobody was more disappointed than me to be down 19 at home, but to make the decision to boo your team off to the locker room at half time is not what it means to be a Bradley fan.

I understand that players are basically paid now, and this type of behavior is very common in pro sports… but come support your team or just stay home.

Perhaps this is how society is heading, but I sincerely hope this is not how our fan base is heading. We have a winning program, an excellent coach and staff, good talent and HIGH CHARACTER players who care deeply, 2X Arch Madness Titles in 5 seasons, we are defending MVC champs, we have a 6-2 record, etc. what else do you want boo birds? Get real.

Coach Wardle mentioned it twice in the postgame, without complaining at all. I’ll do it on his behalf.
    Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I completely agree Dub. I've been a fan for over 50 years and have never booed the home team. Imagine what a potential recruit in attendance might think if the home fans are booing.

Totally agree Dub, Boo the officials or the other team but for goodness sakes don't boo our kids, As Dub said if that's what you want to do to show your displeasure please stay home. If your not apart of the solution your part of the problem. We don't need your boos to tell us we didn't play very it was pretty obvious.

How can you tell who booing is directed towards? I was booing several times at the refs and that was one. They were obviously giving a certain Sycamore player calls.

The booing I’m talking about happened just after the first half buzzer sounded and our boys were walking to the locker room. It may not have been a large number of people, but it was definitely noticed by the players and staff… I hope it was a fluke as our guys deserve better. Go Braves. Looking forward to bouncing back.

I understand that but I don't think you can assume who it's directed towards. Not everyone in a large group is unhappy about the same thing. Some may not like coaching decisions. When losing it can be for a number of reasons.

I sit on the opposite side up to the right of the visiting team. I didn't hear anyone booing but if fans were booing the team then prove you can do better.
was I disappointed in the first half effort? Of course but never boo your team.

I thought the booing was mostly for the officiating more than anything. And it wasn’t that loud from where I sit.

Nobody should boo a player. Not even against opposing players.. They are just kids and I am sure they don't feel very happy today either. I will also say I don't think any body from this board did any of the boos. We have very knowledgeable people on here that understand the game of basketball.

I agree with you. What little booing I heard, I interpreted it as fans not happy with the way the officials called the first half, and the way the half ended with the lead ballooning to 19 points.

In general, I'm not someone who likes booing players. Obviously, officials are regularly booed. Often times coaching decisions are booed. But I do think that with more and more legalized sports gambling, and players now being paid (in some cases more in a year than the fans who bought tickets), you will see a rise in booing of college athletes.

This is a concern of mine as well. Once you start to arrange pay to attract and retain services, it threatens to change the nature of the relationship between player and fan. Keep your eye on this.
