A few years back people were complaining how especially during player introductions it was too low and it was. Too low to get anyone fired up for sure. Yes, it's too loud now during timeouts sometimes but if that makes you actually leave then maybe ballgames aren't for you.

I have to disagree. Nobody is saying they should turn the music off, or silence the PA.
But, anything that turns fans off or makes them want to stay home is not a good thing.
Nobody goes to the Bradley games to get their ear drums blasted with loud music, especially the kind of music they don't like.
Just turn it down a notch.

Yes it is too loud and everyone I know has said it needs to be turned down a little. The music is fine as it is what the team wants which is more important.

We are not talking about introductions. It is the music during the warmups

Yes, I know that and I don't disagree. It's too loud at times. It's no so loud that real fans would actually leave though since it's only in short stints. Also, 20 whatever years ago some people complained about the 50 Cent song In Da Club was used for intros because it was "thug music". So there's always someone complaining about something.

I'm sorry Nashville but it's too damn loud. You could turn it down half way and it'll still be loud enough to keep the energy up yet soft enough that I can talk to the person next to me without yelling. And I think Brian keeps the players more than enough motivated that loud music would make a difference. In fact I'm sure Brian would appreciate it saving his voice by not having to yell in the huddle. #Turn it down Civic Center.

The volume seemed all over the place the other night. During some parts it was way too low and other times it was very loud. The sound system was updated over the offseason, yes? Maybe they will get that part figured out. I don’t really mind the louder times but the music choices are…interesting. I don’t need to hear seven nation army 6-7 times during the course of a game.

I would like a bit more of the band playing (the full band when no student break) and more song variety (Hey!, William Tell Overture, Swing March, etc). And please please go back to “Put your hands up in the air” as the pre-tip song. All the other songs that have been tried just don’t work. After the band finishes seven nation army during intros, put on Danzel and be done with it. It should have never been changed a few years back.

And I like the MC being loud and energetic - he needs to be to get Carver going from time to time. I appreciate him after several years without a great MC.

The music and PA system are way too loud. We sit in the lower bowl on the side court, and it is deafening. At the Tarleton State game, we tried moving to a different location and sat with friends to see if it was just our section, but it was the same everywhere.
I have now heard from numerous fans who do not like the excessive volume, including at least a couple who have stopped coming to games because of it. It is the one thing about the experience at the games that is a big turnoff.
Last night, two different long-time ushers who we know commented to me about how many people they hear say it is way too loud, and they agreed. We are aware of at least one family who left last night before the game started and say they are not coming back because they could not tolerate the loud volume of the music being played before they begin the player introductions....

The Peoria Journal Star has this article today. It appears from the URL that the original title was "Is the sound at Bradley basketball games too loud?", but now the title has been changed to-

Being a younger person without hearing aid's it’s fine. Everyone talks how the gray hairs are dying off but do not want the younger people in screaming and making a difference. I watch a lot of college basketball and go to high school basketball games it’s loud and intense. I see people at the Bradley games that don’t even stand up at the beginning of the game or second half. Then if you stand up and get into the game screaming d fence sit down we can’t see. We need younger fans and students to make a difference for the sound. Until then it’s going to be loud in the arena I am sure the players like it.

First off thank you PJS for using my quote in the article, I’ll be expecting my royalty check in the mail right? Secondly as a 60 year old who also doesn’t have hearing aids I thought there was a noticeable difference in the volume of the sound system. It was still loud enough to get the energy going yet I could still talk to my seat neighbors without yelling. It was good compromise. Now if we can start playing better again we can get some of that natural noise going and make Carver the toughest place to play in the Valley.

yes I dont need loud noise to get me up for the game.. In addition the hearing aid people have to be licking their chops knowing in about 15 years all these young kids are going to be coming to them so they can hear better

This is true... hearing loss in young adults is at a level never seen before. It is thought to be due to exposure to loud noise and music at sports events, concerts and in clubs, as well as the frequent use of earphone/earbud music devices- https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/15/healt...ess/index.html

we arrived for the first game of the season 10 minutes after the doors opened. My wife and I then spent the next 50 minutes screaming at each so we could be heard. The arena was for the most part empty and the teams weren’t even warming up. Yes, there is a need to push the level during the game when the room noise level increases, but there needs to be some adjustment prior to tip-off.

(and no I’m not a grey hair with hearing aids.)
