  • BU 5-0 Season start!!!!!

Anyone know the last time the Braves started this strong? I don’t think they have at least since ‘93 when they became my team.

I think even in ‘95-96 when we won the Valley, we started 0-2. The last time we started 4-0 had been ‘07 before a loss to U of I.

The last team to start 4-0 was actually the 2013-14 team- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...71/season/2014

That was Geno Ford's 3rd year. It was accomplished by playing 4 straight home games against 4 of the worst teams in Division I that year. After starting 4-0, that team went on to lose 9 of their next 10 games, and 12 of their next 14. They finished 12-20 overall, and next to last in the MVC.
That was the first season after Creighton left the MVC, so the conference was weakened. Two of Bradley's regular season wins were over Loyola. But then they lost to Loyola in the play-in game in the MVC Tournament on a buzzer beating half court shot by Loyola's Milton Doyle.

It's not good when any MVC team loses in the non-con, it hurts all of our chances for the post season. If they would have made more FT they would have won.

In the 2006-2007 season Bradley started 5-0 before losing their 6th game to Illinois in the Chicago Challenge Invitational tournament at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates on Nov. 25, 2006.

The last time Bradley started better than 5-0 was the 1985-86 season when they won their first 9 games before losing to Clemson in the Hawaii Rainbow Classic on Dec. 28, 1985.
Bradley then won their next 22 games to go to 31-1, before losing to Tulsa in the championship game of the MVC Tournament. Then, they beat UTEP in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to eventually tournament champion Louisville. They finished the season 32-3, the best record in Division I.
