The Redbirds missed their last 5 shots including a 3 at the buzzer to lose to High Point 74-72. ISU had two chances on their previous possession as they missed a layup, got the rebound then missed a 3 with :12 seconds to go. The FT shooting in this game was amazing as ISU shot it 19-21 and High Point was 12-14, though they missed 2 of their last 3 to open the door. ISU was just 5-17 from 3, 24-56 overall.

ISU Blue and Rice exchanged the lead during the first 11:00 of the half then the Sycamores decided to turn it on as they closed the half on a 33-13 run to lead at the half 55-34.

For the 1st 16:00 of the 2nd half the game there were 6 ties and 15 lead changes as both sides wouldn't give any quarter. SIU did go up 5 about midway through the 2nd half but JMU ran off 8 in a row to retake the lead. With 4:34 to go Xavier Johnson, who had a really good night, made a 3 to put SIU up 67-65 but JMU came right back down and made a 3 to retake the lead for the last time. Two times SIU hit a shot to close it to 2 but JMU would come right back down and make a shot and SIU couldn't ge it closer, losing 82-76. Johnson finished with 38, a perfect 12-12 from the FT line. Overall he was 11-20, 4-9 from 3 and had 6 rebounds.

ISU Blue cruised in the 2nd half and won 103-88. They were 33-66 overall, 16-34 from 3, and were 21-27 from the FT line. They also had 23 assists and just 7 turnovers. Robbie Avila, who I think will contend for MVC POY, had 28 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists
