Their game tonight was against Rufus King HS, a larger public high school in Milwaukee that is not in the same conference.

Pius XI is a mid-sized (around 700 enrollment) private Catholic high school in the city of Milwaukee. They play in the Woodland Conference, which is made up of a bunch of suburban Milwaukee schools, and a couple private Lutheran schools. The schools in the Woodland Conference, from what I can find, are all about the same size.- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodla...isions_(2017-_)

King HS looks pretty good and they jump out to a 26-9 lead in the first 5 minutes of the video. The first highlight of Jaquan is at about the 5½ minute mark. Most of his highlights are in the 2nd half as Pius XI makes a comeback and takes the lead. His skills are impressive!

Jaquan Johnson's Pope Pius XI team played their first conference game tonight, and it was against Wisconsin Lutheran, the best team in the conference, and one of the top teams in Wisconsin, lead by 5-star Duke commit Kon Knueppel. Pius XI hung close into the 2nd half, but then Wisconsin Lutheran pulled away and won easily 98-65.
Individual stats pending.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

It was an exciting game. Both teams lacked size, but New Berlin West made up for it with very good outside shooting. Pius XI mostly stayed in contention because Jaquan Johnson scored a lot, even with double-teams, and when he wasn't scoring, he was making nifty assist passes to teammates. New Berlin West built a double digit lead, 68-57, with about 3 minutes left, but Pius XI came back thanks to pressure defense forcing multiple turnovers, plus some clutch shooting to outscore their opponents 13-2 to tie the game 70-70 at the end of regulation. The overtime stayed close, but Pius XI pulled ahead and held on to win 82-77.
They play 18 minute halves, and there is no shot clock, and they didn't need one. It's surprising how fast the teams played. Rarely did it take either team more than 8-10 seconds to get a shot off.
