Sean East is in his final season of eligibility at Missouri. After averaging 7.3 ppg off the bench last year (2022-23) for 25-10 Missouri, Sean is now a starter. Through their first 3 games, Sean is Missouri's leading scorer averaging 18.3 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, and he is shooting 74% overall and 60% from three.

Sean Houpt is playing his 5th year (Covid year) at Division I William & Mary, after playing 1 season at Bradley as a walk-on, and 3 seasons for D2 Florida Tech. Sean is off to a great start in D1. He is 2nd on the team in scoring with 14.7 ppg, and he is shooting 45% from three. William & Mary plays Omaha tonight in the Air Force Classic.

Rienk Mast is averaging 14.8 ppg and 10.8 rpg through 4 games at Nebraska. He is also leading the team with an average of 3.0 assists per game.

Zek Montgomery is averaging 14.7 ppg and a team-leading 6.3 rpg through 3 games for Rhode Island, along with 3.7 assists per game.

Pop Weathers is averaging 3.0 ppg and 2.2 apg at Texas A&M-Commerce.

Antonio Thomas is averaging 6.7 ppg, 2.0 rpg, and 2.7 apg through 3 games at Evansville.

Jayson Kent is averaging 13.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg for Indiana State through 3 games. He is 0-4 from three, so far.

Max Ekono is playing this season at Southeastern Community College in Iowa. Through 6 games, he is averaging 5.2 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

Jamir Price is playing his final season of eligibility at Minnesota State-Moorhead. After 2 games, he is averaging 10.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg.

I always liked Sean East as a point guard. His size advantage was a big deal and I thought he could have been taught to play better defense. Obviously his high school team never taught him how to defend and UMASS probably never stressed how important it was to him.

Antonio Thomas has been a factor in Evansville's surprising 4-0 start. He's started all 4 games, and averages 7.3 ppg, 2.3 apg, 2.0 steals per game, and is shooting 50%.
Jayson Kent's average is 13.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg at Indiana State through 4 games.
Max Ekono has now played 8 games at Southeastern Community College in Iowa (5-3), and his averages are 6.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

Yes, Bradley would be a mid-major power if those 2 guys returned. That would have meant 2 less scholarships.
For the record, the final 2023 commitments came April 15 almost simultaneously from Trey Pettigrew and Kyle Thomas, and April 20 from Emarion Ellis. (Almar officially committed April 14 after visiting BU April 8-9, and Demarion committed on January 13)

And if Ville Tahvanainen could have been persuaded to return, it would have given even more depth and firepower.

Ya I’ve thought that myself at times, but it’s also easy to wonder if Christian Davis and Hannah emerge as much in the scenario. Do they even both stay? Our whole style would be different as or offense probably goes through Mast again rather than the passing all over style we seemed to have adopted this year. Does Atalson play much at all in that scenario? Burch? Hard to know how it’d all work out. I do think this way the team is set up for more success this year and next if everyone stays.

There have been a number of instances of D1 players transferring from a school, then eventually transferring back, so it does happen, but not often.

It won't happen but Mast also has one year of eligibility left. I either heard on post-game show or read a Bardle comment where he still keeps in contact with them. I think he said weekly. However, at my age you know how that goes.

Not really a former Bradley player- but a former Bradley recruit who we offered....

Elijah Pepper- who signed with and has played his whole career for Jim Les at UC-Davis. He recently passed the 2,000 point
career scoring mark, is their all-time leading scorer, and if he stays on his current pace, will finish his career with somewhere
around 2,300 points. That figure, had it been achieved at Bradley, would be either 2nd or 3rd all time, behind Hersey (3,006)
and Mitchell Anderson (2,341).
Coach Les also has another player, who transferred from Loyola, a Chicago kid, TY Johnson, who could pass the 1,000 point mark this year and still has another full year to play..at his current pace, he could end with ~1,500 points, roughly what would
qualify for Bradley's Top 12-15 or so (Cellus had 1,493)
I believe Darrell Brown was our past guy to pass 1,500, and he finished with 1,830.

Rienk passed 1000 points at the end of last season, Malevy just passed 1000 (1,017), and
both Duke (913- 271 at Troy & 642 at BU) & Hickman (783) are closing in and barring injury will get to 1000.
Darius Hannah (591) would need a solid year next year (11-12ppg) Burch & Almar have a shot but a long way to go.

Wonder is Zek is having 2nd thoughts about leaving BU. Not a very good season for the Rams and Zek's numbers haven't been very good aside from his nice start to the season and a couple great games. I thought he had the potential to be our 2nd leading scorer and even have a shot at being drafted in the NBA - not even close to that now.

Looks like East is Mizzou's leading scorer at close to 16 ppg, averaging 4 assists, team leading 47% three-pt %, and 84% FT.
I will probably always regret BU's decision to let him go whether that was Sean's plan or not. He had a great attitude, touch, and IMO was the #1/2 encourager of teammates (along with Hannah) in his 1 yr with the Braves.
