Bradley played a closed scrimmage this past Saturday (10/28 ) in St. Louis against Missouri, and though they ended up on the losing end, they played pretty well and stayed in contention until midway through the 2nd half when the reserves took over and played the remainder of the game.
Wednesday's exhibition game will be the only public exhibition game this season. St. Ambrose is a private Catholic university in Davenport, Iowa, founded in 1882. They have about 2,700 students, and about 2,100 are undergraduates.
The St. Ambrose Fighting Bees are an NAIA school and compete in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Last year they were 5-20 overall, and 4-16 in the CCAC, which was 13th out of 14 schools.- https://www.ccacsports.com/sports/mb...2-23/standings
Bradley men's basketball has played St. Ambrose 3 times in the past. They played twice as regular season games- first on Jan. 8, 1937 in the Rock Island Tournament (BU won 33-31), and a second time Dec. 5, 1973 in the Fieldhouse (BU won 101-75). And they also played St. Ambrose a 3rd time, as a preseason exhibition game on Nov. 1, 2007. That was the first preseason exhibition game in the 2007-08 season (Bradley also played Quincy as a preseason exhibition that season). Bradley won easily 110-84. Bradley newcomer Tyrone Cole Scott scored 36 points in 21 minutes. He was 10-12 from the floor, 6-8 from three, and 10-10 on FTs.
It was the last Bradley men's basketball game ever played in the Fieldhouse, as demolition began the next spring.
This game will be St. Ambrose's first exhibition game of the 2023-24 season.
They have one other exhibition game against Western Illinois on Nov. 12.

Their leading scorer from last season, 6'9" center Andrew Morrisey (13.7 ppg), graduated, but they return 4 of their top 6 scorers- Sr. Will Spriggs (13.3 ppg), Sr. Jake Friel (9.4 ppg), Jr. Grant Mason (8.5 ppg), and soph. Ignacio Dacunda (7.4 ppg). No other returning player averaged more than 4 ppg.
