shocking story - Rienk Mast was riding his motor scooter, minding his own business (Oct. 19), when he was attacked, knocked off his scooter,
then beaten by an attacker in what police call a "random act of violence"
He will not play in Nebraska's exhibition game Sunday
"According to a probable cause affidavit, Mast was riding a scooter around 9:45 p.m.
near 13th and L Streets when a 28-year-old Lincoln resident knocked Mast off the scooter
and began hitting him. Police arrested the man, who was charged with three-degree assault
and resisting arrest. Mast went to the hospital with an apparent facial injury."
Head coach Fred Hoiberg did not give a " timeline for his potential return.".
Their Sunday opponent, Doane, appears to be able to score, as they won their first game 104-38
