  • NCAA rule change affecting block/charge calls

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel just approved a new rule that will affect the way officials call the block or charge. The previous rule required the defender to be set before the offensive player left the floor. The new rule requires the defensive player to be set by "the time an offensive player plants a foot to go airborne to attempt a field goal".
There were also a number of other rule changes-

IMO, this is a good change. It will favor the offense, and eliminate many charging calls created by a defender sliding under the shooter as he goes up for a shot.
I also like the new rule allowing players to wear any number between 0-99.

NCAA Women's basketball will also be subject to several rule changes-
Women's basketball players judged to have flopped will be issued a warning on the first offense, with a technical foul being charged for any subsequent infractions, beginning in the 2023-24 season.

Pretty much can count on refs still making bad calls and giving "defenders" a really cheap way to nullify the offense's fine play
The one most noticable change will be uniform numbers. I think fans will like seeing their favorite players wearing jersey numbers
that haven't been seen in college ball for 60 years.
