Bradley gets a commitment from Marquette transfer Emarion Ellis. Ellis was a 4-star recruit from Davenport Assumption HS in Davenport, Iowa, in the class of 2021. He is a 6'5" extremely talented and athletic guard. He was named the Iowa Class 3A Player of the Year in 2021, and 1st team All-State by the Des Moines Register. He averaged 18.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game per game his senior year.Originally posted by Da Coach on 4/16/23 View Post

He initially committed to Texas in the summer prior to his senior season, but when head coach Shaka Smart left Texas and took the Marquette job, Ellis decommitted and committed to Marquette in April, 2021. He had limited playing time his freshman season (see stats). He missed the entire 2022-23 season after developing a stress fracture in his leg that required surgery.

Too me Ellis is an upgrade from Montgomery just by the way he can handle the ball, a way better dribbler and we really seemed to lack that from the outside.....great addition...

In the most recent PJ Star article by Dave Eminian, he asked Coach Wardle what he was looking for with the one remaining open scholarship.
His answer was, “ We're looking at bringing in a big wing, guard, a 3-2 who can handle the ball and make plays," Wardle said.
So either Coach Wardle was just expressing his wants, or he knew there was a good likelihood of getting a commitment from Emarion Ellis. That description fits Ellis pretty closely, so no wonder Coach Wardle is happy.

Really really good pick up from the portal. Good size and athleticism, he really rounds out our roster.
When was the last time we had a former four star recruit on the roster? Josh Cunningham back in 2014?
