  • Cancelling ESPN Plus

Again this year, now that Bradley games are over, here is a reminder...
For those who subscribed to the ESPN Plus subscription option to watch most of the Bradley games, you might want to consider cancelling.
If you do not cancel, you will continue to be billed monthly indefinitely. The current price for ESPN+ alone is now $9.99 per month.

Here is the link to cancel. Log in first, then click this link.
It will show you when your current billing cycle ends, and your cancellation will become effective after that date.
    https://secure.web.plus.espn.com/bil...tch%2Fespnplus

Your account will remain active in the ESPN system, though you'll no longer be billed for ESPN+.
But you will always be able to reactivate your subscription at any future point.

If you have the Disney Plus Bundle, which was $13.99/month, with ESPN+, Disney Plus, and Hulu, you will need to log in, then go to the Disney Plus site to cancel-
Disney+ Account Settings. Use this page to manage your account on Disney+ and get access to the movies and TV series you love.

Click on "Legacy Disney Bundle", and scroll down to the bottom and click on "Cancel Subscription".

When I logged onto the ESPN+ website I was presented with NO option to cancel my subscription. I finally reached out to ESPN+ customer service via chat.

For anyone who’s encountered challenges canceling ESPN+, I’ve just gotten off a chat with Gino B. on the ESPN+ website.

Per Gino - “we are having a known issue and our technical team is already aware and working to fix and improve the website.

So in my instance I was prohibited from canceling. In my opinion Disney/ESPN is trying to bulk up their profits by making the cancellation process far more challenging than it should be. How many subscribers would have simply blown off the issue (as I’d done for 3 months). “Known issue” means Disney/ESPN knows about the issue and is ignoring it. In my IT shop this would have been fixed within 24 hours.

To their credit they’re giving me a refund for 3 months but the 30 minutes I had to spend chatting to get the money back isn’t time well spent.

    Go Braves !!!!!

I have not had this problem with ESPN, but beware, because I sure have with a couple other online sites including the Rivals (sports) site
and especially the Peoria Journal Star.
The PJStar lures you in with a really low $1 offer for a 6 mo trial subscription, with the promise of CANCEL at any time!
You have to give a credit card to pay the $1 and that's the catch!

Once they have your credit card - even if you try to cancel they just keep billing and billing your credit card and unless
you monitor your credit card account activity, they generally will get away with robbing you of a couple months at $15/mo
that they will say is non-refundable )because they'll claim you failed to cancel properly or you delayed too long).

So -- even after I thought I had solved it and cancelled, they did it again the next month! So beware, they are greedy.

Funny how the technical problems always occur with canceling service and never with starting your service.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I'm glad I saw this. I cancelled my Disney Plus bundle (which includes ESPN+) back in early April, after the season ended. (when I posted this thread)
But I just checked, and it wasn't cancelled. It is still active, and has billed me automatically the last 2 months, even though it should have been cancelled, and I have not logged on or watched anything on the service since the first week of ApriI, when I thought it was cancelled.
What a ripoff. Disney is a sinister, quasi-criminal organization. I encourage anyone else who subscribed to ESPN+ or Disney to check the status of their subscription, and make sure it is cancelled.

I've never had a problem cancelling subscriptions on my iphone when cancelling under "Settings", then "Subscriptions". Is this how you're doing it?

Yes. I've done it every year for several years. I even got a confirmation from them. So it will get straightened out.

I've been double and triple billed for ESPN+ multiple times in the last year. I can't get any answers from them so I just continue to dispute the charges via my CC provider website. The one time I could actually get some answers I got the same "known issue" response. How many people have they done this to that don't watch their CC bill? It's such a cluster I hate to stick with them but between BU and many other events I watch, I'm a year round subscriber.
